I have what seems to be a lot of play in the side stand.  as i had it on its lift, and i extend the side stand, i can get probably almost 2 inches of :sideways" play (so when i put the kick stand down and set the bike on it, once it touches the ground, the bikes settles more based on that play).

jsut don't know if thats normal or the bolt is worn, or....?  any thoughts?  anyone have a side stand and bracket in good shape?

don't want something to go"snap" and find the bike on its side!!

If the bracket's not loose then perhaps the fork on the side stand has opened up. Or maybe the bolt is bent.

is it normal for th side stand to relax when you put her on it, though.  as i said, i get an additional relaxation / lean as i let her on the stand.

Sure, that's a lot of weight on the stand. When I set mine over there's some give as the stand takes the full weight. If there's been no occurrences to damage the bracket or frame cross member under there things are probably fine and are as they are.

At home in the garage [if I don't use the center stand] I place a 2x4 block under the side stand to straighten it a bit so it doesn't take up so much room in the garage.
I usually wait to the next day though. Because if you've picked up a nail and have an unknown slow leak the bike could fall over to the right as it deflates while having a block under the stand.
