This is a thread for all to add their love stories too. I'll start off. Pictures optional, but appreciated. You know you're in love with the "Fat Lady" when................................You'll spend $8.00 in gas for a round trip ride to save $7.00 on dog food.

Last April I rode alittle over 1,800 miles round trip to eat some Texas Q . The whole ride I had blood soakin' my shirts from recent lung surgery ....One of my favorite rides of 2009 I must like the Valkyrie I own three of them and just lately turned down a very good price for this one.

I have a few! You know you're in love when.......................................... You sell a VERY nice, beautiful Triumph Rocket 3 to buy another Valk for your wife!! Sniff, sniff.. :'( You have a stash of new Honda parts "just in case" you may need them. But of course, you rarely will. You have many "special" tools that are Valk-specific. Some home made.

here's what you will need to keep on riding.
spare wheel bearings.
A spline or two, 1200 bucks if you can get one.
Spare diaphragm for the petcock
Alternator after some mileage.
Lots of carb cleaner wiht six carbs.
Chrome, these things just devour chrome.
They scream for it all the time.
800 dollars for some bag rails that probably went for 250 new.
Parts ain't made no more.
But all in all wiht the problems Iv'e seen other people have I still bought one.
Big Al

Wife said she needed an onion to cook dinner. Bypassed the store 1.5 miles from the house. Went to the store 62 miles away. Got an onion. 62 miles back home. Yrmv,

It doesn't dawn on you to drive the truck to the store to shop for Christmas dinner. Put the backrest bag on backwards on the pillion, strap the cooler on the luggage rack and ride to the grocery store. Fill the cooler up with the turkey and frozen veggies, put a cold bag in one saddle bag filled up with more cold and frozen stuff, a 15 lb bag of dog food in the other and stuff the backrest bag so full you have to unzip the expansion zipper. When people look at you like you're crazy, look at them with pity being locked away in their metal and glass cages.

riding the fat lady is better than a real woman:
1) they never complaine on how long the ride is. 2) they never complain on when you want to ride. 3) they never complaine when you ride them hard. 4) they never complain if you touch thier headlight or pat their seat in public 5) they never complaine when you look at another bike.

I don't think I have ever parked Little Martha without taking another look at her as I walk away. I can feel the grin on my face as I walk out of work and see her in the lot.
I waited two days after I was able to walk without crutches from the broken leg before I started riding to work and everywhere else again. Two LONG days!

When ya can't walk...but you can ride. I'm sure there's something to be said for being normal.
I've not the foggiest notion what that could be though.A story-dm

WOW ...That bike is trashed Do you have it back together ? Got pictures ? Would you mind sharing what happened ? From the looks of that bike you are a very lucky man to be standing beside it.
