I got the rear off, not too bad. The splines look good, lots of grease in there. I have a few questions.
Do I need to remove the brake rotor to have a new tire mounted?
Should I replace the o-ring thats on the wheel spline? (I should)
Should I clean out the old grease and replace (I got the Honda spline lube)?
Anything else to look for at 36,000 miles?
Thanks for all the help!
Don't need to remove the brake rotor. Manual sez not to even reuse those bolts if you undo them,
probably got something to do with the "locktite" stuff that comes on new ones...
There's three Orings that you could replace. Ones kind of hard to find...
http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/Elusive%203rd%20O-Ring.htmIt might be overkill to change the Orings every time, but you can get them cheap, here's a
source that also supports the VRCC...
