...can you say "U-Joint"?

Dave in Frisco had his U-joint go out - at 22,000mi! - while cruising down IH-45 at the end of the Saturday morning ride.
If your gonna' have your Valk go down, there might not be a better place to be - Inzane being the exception - other than the Gatherin' of the Fools!

But first...WOW...what a geat time!  Thanks to Hotglue and Flamingo Babe for outdoing themselves and hosting this great event once again...

There were some "celebrities" amongst us...

Lot's of awesome bikes...

Some site seeing...

Great VRCC folks...

And a lesson on how to replace a u-joint!...

So...Dave's u-joint went out while we were headed back to the "ranch" after the Saturday morning ride.  He and I had split off from the group to swing back by the hotel when I noticed his headlight wasn't in my right mirror anymore!  I made the next exit, which was about a mile, to turn around and see if I could help.  While headed back south I saw that Dave had been able to cross three lanes of fierce IH-45 traffic and was limping along on the outside median.  The next turn around was another two or three miles down.  By the time I made it back on the freeway the rest of the group had caught up to Dave.  There was some confusion with the group as they saw him exiting and turning into a Toyota Dealership.  Everything was sorted out, so a few of us hung back to lend moral support...

Within minutes a trailer was dispatched and a u-joint was found!...

If there was a "good" place to break down where else would you rather be?...

Once again,  THANK YOU HotGlue and Flamingo Babe!   The food was great and the event was over the top!

No video from me this year, but here's a link to a slide show of some of my pics...

Bandit and Dana headed out about 7:00 this morningand I dropped Vicky off at Hobby Airport at 9:00 AM. It's a pretty safebet to say that Vicky will arrive home a bit drier than Bandit.

HG & FB..... thanks for another awesome event! Great food & great friends.... life is good!  cooldude

Last I spoke to him he was planning on going to NASA for a tour and then heading home late.
Let us know when he makes it home or you hear from him.

Hot Glue and Flamingo Babe,

you out did yourselves this year... Your event never ceases to amaze me.  Words cannot express how much I appreciate your hosting this every year.

I got home about 7:00, rain, drizzle and a 25 degree temperature drop.  (I was glad I was in the car)  I hope everyone made it home okay, without incident.

Already thinking of next year, and drooling.

It was great seeing friends I haven't seen since last year, and meeting new ones.

Thanks again

How can I get a Texas VRCC shirt like Dag was wearing?

Loooong story short, those shirts were made and sold years ago.  Recently, a few that were misplaced years ago were discovered and we saved was the very last one for a TX VRCC gift to Dag.

I did find a sweet spot - 20 mph in 3rd - but that would have made for a VERY long ride home...    2funny
