Is there a secret on how to get it to sit right? I cant seem to get it right. TIA

No real secret.   Ya just have to keep screwing with it.

Get a helper, take the bolt out and manually fit it to you.   When ya find about where ya want it, put the bolt back in and make any final adjustments...

If it's a Corbin backrest, lotsaluck.  They only have 1 pivot point, and if you adjust it forward, the top sticks you in the back.......

Have Utopia backrest on both bikes, as RJ said, adjust and ride to get a feel and adjust to taste or comfort.
