....well....me n Chili been in the French Quarter for the last two daze....hadda a lil change of plans...but aint that the way a good road trip goes ? .....We hit Nawlins yesterday about 2:30 in the afternoon...lucked out big time and booked a room a t a fine lil place right in the French Quarter called...The Provencial....they have their own court yard for off street parking....so the bike is nice and safe.....we got a beautiful room done in early French Provencial with our own balcony....sat out there last night just enjoying the night with a big ol virgin bottle of Capn Morgan....when all of a sudden all these fire works started goin off....we were havin such a great time we called down to the desk and booked for another night....just as well...ya need at LEAST two nights to explore the French Quarter ....more like a week or two.....but we did our best....speny a hundred bucks in the blink of an eye.....this place is really cool...would love to spend all week here.....but were packin up and leaving in the morning for Nachetz Trace in the morning......been on the road for a week and a half and having a blast......as our good friend Blackdog sez.......mental floss...

....was great meeting you too ! Chili and I had a really LARGE time at Hg,s and FB,s.....those folka are awesome host....and the food.....best Q Ive ever had ! ....and was really great to be able to put a face to handles Ive seen on the boards for years.....be cool....and remember...when you guys make your way up to Northern Michigan for IZ this year...look us up....were only an hour from ground zero...

Timber, good to see you in Houston.  I stayed at the provincial when I first visited the Quarter yrs ago.  Very Nice old place.  Be sure and try to visit Frenchmen Street while you are in the area.

You asked about a good place to eat.  Try http://www.mandinasrestaurant.com/ at 3800 Canal Street.  Not far from the Quarter and great family owned restaurant.  btw, CASH ONLY.

....was great to finally get to meet you also my friend.....Chili and I met alot of great folks at The Gathering....and made alot of good memories.....unfortunately we had to tell NOLA goodbye....we,re now in good ol Alabama...bout 150 miles from Chatanooga....had dinner at a great little place right off the interstate last night called...Austins Steaks and Sea Food....had a HUGE 14 oz "Cajun Seasoned"...ribeye....fresh Gulf shrimp....sweet tater souffle....and....finally got to try ...deep fried dill pickles !!. ....they were awesome !


....man...we ate way too much ...then tried to make it to the...ABC Store..(didnt know they still had them)...before 9PM.....left the resturant around 8:55....flew down these back streets only to get held up at a train crossing.....where a locomotive towing two cars....went by....finally got to the ABC Store at...9:02 ......needlesss to say it was dark as a graveyard and locked up tight.....so we went back to the hotel and grooved on a couplea ...Shriner Bocks....someone from the Gathering insisted we take with us....said it was made right in Texas and was some good stuff....and damn if wasnt right....stuff was REALLY good....just wish I could remember the guys name that turned us onto them....man I stink at remembering names....anyway....if you,re rewading this man....you were right !....those beers rocked !!!. ....and THANK YOU !!!!



....well....were off to Deals Gap today....I can see the end of this adventure comming up fast....but hell....we had a great run while it lasted....and it aint over yet by a long shot !!

...ya....been keepin an eye on Northern Michigan weather when it is possible...were in Athens Tennessee for the night...gonna do Deals Gap in the morning.....we were up on the beginning of Look Out Mountain this afternoon...most excellent riding....figger we been everywhere else....might as well hit the mountains too...lol..we came across a very cool spot where they have this Hang Gliding Business set up...got some very cool shots of a guy just taking flight off the ramp....down into the valley way below...but it started clouding over and I didnt want to get caught in a rain storm up there or ...at night...so we got directions and vamboozled it back down to flat lander country....were in for the evening....got another jacuzzi room...and a 6 pak of ...ICE COLD YUENGLINGZZZ....this journey has without a doubt been THE best adventure Chili and I have ever explored in the wind.....aiming to roll up our driveway Sunday afternoon.....but until then...
