can carbs unsynced cause what sounds like a knocking on what appears to be near left valve cover similar to a sound of valve clicking..local mechanic has led me to believe that this is the source of the noise. no apparent power loss and have had valves recently adjusted twice. also had  carbs synced by knowledgable friend.  bike starts a little harder after initial work.. thanks for any input ??? ???

Use a mechanics stethascope or a long screw driver with the handle in your ear to pinpoint the noise. Sounds like a loose rocker to me.

Cannot imagine how a carb sync would cause a knocking sound. Has to be something else I'm guessing.
