goin' back to the stock pipes that came with my used Cobra 6 into 6 exhaust equipped '98 Tourer. I took the stock pipes out of the box for the first time, and was surprised at how clean and scratch/dent free they are.
If I switch 'em back to stock, I was wondering if there's anything I need to watch out for... The previous owner said he never re-jetted. The Cobras are real blue/black about the first foot or so, plus the beautiful sound does get a little annoying on a long ride.
Thanks for any tips.
I just switched from Cobras to unmolested IS pipes. The first thing I noticed was the transmission whine, the second was front tire noise. I had read about both but never heard them before. You will enjoy the quiet exhaust.
It does take awhile to get the new exhaust gaskets crushed to hold torque. A little anti-seize on the studs and torque to about 70 - 80
inch lbs. Ride, let cool, retorque and repeat. I think it took 5-6 times on mine.
