I talked to the hotel this morning.  We can get the rooms for $69/night and that includes a hot breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.  She said I need to let her know soon how many rooms to block because there is a bowling tournament that weekend and the rooms might not be available if we wait too long.

I'm thinking we ride in on Friday and I promised Stanley I would have Taco Soup for him and possibly we can convince Roma on some ribs?

Saturday Warlock takes us on a great ride and we stop for lunch at the chicken place in Lorman, then possibly stop at the winery on the way back that afternoon.  I hear they have awesome wines there.

Depends on if the hotel lets us, I'm thinking of having our own food cookout, that way you don't have to worry with that.  If we can't do that, I hear the seafood buffet at the casino is awesome, and that's only 1 mile from the hotel.

I would like to have a silent auction on some things donated by local motorcycle shops and such.  The money goes to the Lupus Foundation for support services and research.

Sunday we all go home.

Any takers?  Smiley

If nothing more pressing comes up, I will throw the mutts in the vet's for the weekend and come over.  Wonder if Steamer will bring the Kia so he can smuggle leftover taco soup home.  Hmmm, I might have to alert Joeja otorities to be on the lookout for him.

SB - the best I can say right now is pencil me as well. I'm gonna try to do this, but with my job and
generally befuddled life, I can make all the plans I want, but they often get changed.
My family owns 160 acres of hunting land (that's all it's good for) not far from Lorman and I have been up and down the Trace and into Natchez, Fayette, and Port Gibson for over 20 years. I've ridden the Trace on my Valk a couple of times and really enjoyed the relaxing ride. Got cuaght after dark on it once - had to slow and even stop several times for deer.
The last time I ate at the casino, the buffet was very good, but that was a few years ago.
What hotel are you trying to book?

after EXTENSIVE research, I've decided to go with the Isle of Capri hotel.  Many factors were considered when making this choice.

Hope you can make it.  Have you ever been to the chicken place in Lorman?  It's awfully good.  cooldude

I haven't been there since it has re-opened - I've heard from several people I know down there that it is good.

Joe, I hope you are not mad at me.  The dates are August 20-22, I know it's close to your Natchez Trace ride, but we had to pick a time when Warlock was home.  I sure hope you can make it, if not, it's cool.

That's less than 2 weeks before the Labor Day Weekend " Natchez Trace Ride " . Too close for that kinda ride for me I have to watch my time takin' from work. I think the folks that come ride with us on the entire Natchez Trace Ride will not show for this one ...And the ones that show for this ride will not come ride with us  Undecided  Dates are just too close together  Undecided
