Lost spacer from behind left side engine hanger while installing engine hanger cover,,, heard the tink tink as it fell but cannot find it.   Need a new one but cannot find it.  It sits behind the engine hanger and bolt 30 goes through it doesn't show on this drawing (frame): http://www.hdlparts.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=148631&category=MOTORCYCLES&make=HONDA&year=2000&fveh=3474

Look under ignition coil on the parts fiche.

02     COLLAR, PIVOT
17937-881-000    004    $6.02    $4.21

No. 2

Or, it's likely hiding down low between the alternator and rear engine case. That pocket is a catch-all. A small flexible magnet may retrieve it for you.

I'll have to try and locate a small flexible magnet, I have tried feeling in that area with fingers but I'm sure you already know that doesn't get in there very far  Sad

EDIT:  Forgot to tell you thanks for pointing out where I can find the part on the fiche!! cooldude

With a mirror and a flashlight you can see a whole lot looking up from under the motor.

Especially easy to see that space between the alternator and the motor case.

Bought a small flexible magnet and shure enough found it in the crevice next to the alternator and was able to "fish" it out.  That was easy compared to re-attaching the breather hose which came up with it.  Thanks very much for the suggestion.  cooldude

Oh yeah, meant to warn you about the lines.

Now you're ready for the "next time".  cooldude
