Due to a recent accident we, partner & I, got wondering why people put car seats on the outside seat instead of the middle of the seat.  uglystupid2 I'm gonna try and get some stuff rolling at work and need some answers. Both us us dont have kids, tho she has one on the way, and was wondering....

Where do you put your car seat?

What is the reason you put it there?

Anything else you'd like to add?

Now to make it Valk related, I was working on the Girl today trying to get the horn to work. I rewinded it and is a tad better. I need a new one I guess. Yea, its a HD horn.....

Brian, a lot of the cars do not have a connection in the center of the seat.

Wife's car only has 2 back there, no center one.    My truck has 3 but the grand kids want to be able to see they say, so each one gets a window seat.

I put them in the wife's car so I don't have a kid in my car.  Evil

I can think of two reasons, one is conveniance related, the other safety.  More women then men are the ones strapping the little tikes in their car seats.  The center position (for cars that have them) would be very hard to reach to do the straps or the get the wee little ones in there for a small girl without lots of upper body strength.

Cars that have the special belts and hookups for car seats generally have them at the outside.  Ive seen some in the middle but more on the outside.  Ones that dont have special hookups generally have one small non self adjusting strap in the middle seat so it would be hard to get that car seat tight in the middle positon

The instructions always say in the middle in the back seat.  But I could never see stacking them, so the second one had to go at the door.  Then you have to decide which one you like more! Shocked  We always used the middle if there is just one and the youngest in the middle if both seats are full.  Now we don't have a spot in the middle so they go where they go.

Also if the car dosn't have the special connections for the car seat you have to use the sholder strap as part of the anchor.  Most middle seats don't have a sholder harness.

The burb has no center seat.

Now he's in a booster, and the center, in my car, has no shoulder strap.
