Author Topic: Best Aftermarket Mirrors  (Read 2525 times)

A long time ago I posted about aftermarket mirrors, but back then it seemed that the stockers gave you the best performance, so I have always had them on my '97.  It may be time for a little new bling for the old girl and I started thinking about a new set of mirrors.  I just don't want to give up adjustment or visability.

Thanks-

I've seen several aftermarkets on other bikes, didn't really
care for any of them. The question is..do you want to look
good or see good? (I'm sure there's mirrors out there that
do both, but I don't like to spend money unless I have to)

After my crash I bought a set from HDL....the ones they call direct replacements for VTX and Rune.  They actually look like Yamaha OEM mirrors off a Roadstar, but Im really liking them

I use these on my Tourer winddshield. My son calls them my "ugly mirrors".
I also know they are expensive, but they have been on my bike for 100,000 miles without any issues.

My selection criteria was that they should look nice on the bike, provide good rearward vision and that I should be very visible in traffic.

...and ended up with Kuryakyn Turn Signal Mirrors.  (PS! Convex Glass Mirror)
Looking at the mirrors from the front, you'll notice a bank of L.E.D.'s that work as a running light and a super bright auxiliary turn signal. Unlike other lighted mirrors, these lights only face forward so glare is not a factor.

After seeing them on Dag's Bee, I put them on Sandman but I got rid of the stock ones.

I had the Kury mirrors like Dags but without the lights. I found that I couldn't see that well with them and the glass would shake a little. Ended up going back to stock mirrors and I think I'll stay that way.

I have these.

Almost as big as factory, Vibration is a minimum.

Had ordered these.

Don't bother, too small for my tastes, plus they send me the LED and the best I could do is see the front tire of the cars behind me.  Mounting bolt would need to be straight up and my swept bars has the MC at an angle.

Here is the one that I have and am very pleased with them.  I used the stock arm with the ebay mirror head.  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-F6CValkyrie-F6C-Valkyrie-GL1500-GL-1500-mirrors-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1c0716590bQQitemZ120377989387QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

I have the stock Yamaha oval mirrors. They look good and have a slight convex curve to them. Just get  the mirror heads only as they will fit right on your Valk stems.          Fuzzy

I run the  Kuryakyn mirrors and am very happy with them. Road last Sat with a group of friends all Harley Owners. Guess who is always asked to lead the group. I noticed in my mirrors that 3 bikes had dropped out of view. I pulled over and asked if any one saw anything or knew where they were. Two riders on either side asked how did I notice theres no way they could count bikes all they could see was a group of head lites bouncing around. Grin Go figure.
