Anybody run a bridgestone? Just curious how miles anyone's got out of one? They got a nice price on them on Jake Wilson.

Did on my crotch rockets, but not on the valk. They are pretty popular with the sporty crowd.
Am also interested to hear how they do on the fat lady.

HotRod...I used to run the Bridgestone Battle Ax 200 series on the rear, before going Darkside. I LOVED that tire. Best handling rear tire I've experienced on my Valkyrie, period. I've never had Bridgstones on the front, can't help you there. I would get between 9-11 thousand miles depending on my riding, tire pressure of course, and my budget. The 11 thousand was not safe, I milked it out due to unemployment situation. My evaluation, can't say anything bad, no complaints

I'm thinking about giving the darkside a try.

Thanks HotRod,
I was just thinking of posting a question with a similar topic. I have been running OEM Dunlops on my Valk since day one (10 years), I know, how could I, thats all I have ever heard since owning the Valk, but I must say, I have been extremely happy wth the D-206, but now that they are a rareity, I thought of changing to either the Dunlop Elite 3 or a totally new tire all together and wanted to see what is the best recommended tire out there. I am no fan of the Metzler I must say that out front, rode a bike not too long ago and did not like the feel of that at all. So any advice would be appreciated.
Sorry HotRod for crashing your post but I figured why open a second when you are already polling. Thanks
Yuri

I`m running my third set of Bridgestone 200/60-16 Battlax BT020R rear and Bridgstone 150/80R17 G701 front. I just love these tires. Exceptional grip level on both dry and wet surfaces. Front tire changed at 34828 Miles and 48058 Miles = 13230 Miles (I could have some more miles on it) Rear tire changed at 34828 Miles. My Valk have 48070 Miles now, but I have about 10K miles with a CT in between. I`m running the Bridgestone MCT now. I recommend the Bridgstone tires I will never go back to Dunlop or Metzler which I had earlier. It is not often that I express myself so firm. But for my driving style, this is the ultimate tire selection

HotRod, I was running the same tire Dag posted. Best motorcycle tire I've tried, loved it. To answer your question I'm now running this CT. I won't recommend it, only tell you it works for me. I did a year of research before switching. It's not for everyone, search the archives and ask around. It's very controversial and I don't want to be responsible (by my comments) for someone elses decision regarding this subject. Like I said, It works well for me.

I agree with you! I have a spare rear rim with a CT, but I only use it for long rides and enjoy the scenery. When I go for local rides and ride the road instead of scenery I prefer the MC tire.

I had a set of new Bridgestones on my I/S when I bought it in 2003,...and I thought they SUCKED. Yeah they wore well, but sucked in the traction department.
Put on some Avons, and it was a different bike. But the Venom rears only lasted about 9.5K miles, with the fronts about twice that. My I/S now has a CT on the rear and a venom in the front.
My Rat-Rod Valk has Metzlers and they seem to be holding up very well. They had a promotion a while back,...buy a rear and get a free front. Couldn't pass it up.

I have had very god luck with the bridgestones, 10-15K with the rear, 16-20K with the front. There are 3 that fit the back, Excedra 702, 180/16/70, excedra 851, 180/16/70, Battlax 20, 200/16/60. The front is excedra 701 150/80/17. The Battlax is FAT, barely clears. That's what I have on now. They all handle well. hoser

+++++ on the bridgestone potenza. got as much surface contact when leaned as any mc tire. Bridgestone Potenza g109 Grid 205/60/16 460 tread compound. uni-directional. Didn't want to go with the smaller diameter as some use and sure didn't want the hard compound with others. Fits me very well. Twisties, no problem. Runs quiter, smoother, longer. Probably got 20k miles on it. Checked the splines again the other day, look great. Was looking at the tag. Put it on in May 08. Still looks new.

I'm currently running the Battlax on the rear and an E3 on front. Will be replacing the E3 with a cobra. The Battlax is a good looking tire, grips well wet or dry. I think I'll get around 10k miles on it.

I have a bridgestone up front and a Ct on the back. Prior to that I had Bridgestones front and rear and love them. I have tried lots of different rear tires and found the bridgestone to be the best, it is quiet and good in the rain. No wobble at high speed like I got with the one Avon I ran. The wobble began at around 110, I had a meltzer up front at the time so the Avon people told me it was not their tire. However when I took it off and put a bridgestone on the back with the same meltzer up front the wobble went away. The bridgestone is normally cheaper than most of the others.
