Tim said I could not mention a certain "R" word so Ill try not to.  Today we wanted to ride to Judy's Dr appointment.........he doesnt like motorcycles....lol.....anyway weather report was cloudy to partly sunny with a  20% chance of something I cant mention, plus most of the radar hits were to our west, and we were heading west. hmmmmmm

I figured oh well, at least its warm so we head out.  All total it was a 133 mile day and it did 20% on us for a couple miles is all......just got done cleaning the bike..........not too bad at all........now Im ready for the mountain!

Hope all is clear sailing for all of us that are going!!!!!!!!

Tim - I take it that the only thing in jeopardy should...something...happen would be the ride on Saturday.  Correct?  The food, band, contests, prizes, and revelry are not in jeopardy should it...do something we can't say.  Right?

I would think that there isn't a snowball's chance that we wouldn't do everything else given the one metric ass ton of work you and others have put into this event.

I think the only thing in jeopardy would be people's dryness... last year a large group of riders set out for the museum and experienced
the hardest rain I'd ever been in. Since Carolyn came in her car, I was also in that  Wink ...

All the festivities....both nights....all night...are in the EXPENSIVE ($2000 per night....$4000 for the weekend. we got them to give us the "off season" rate this year...so we "only paid" $2000...half price. it's ONE of the reasons we can't do this anymore next year...it just costs TOO much!) private lodge....Ground Zero...the Baldrock Lodge. We'll even take you to and from the lodge...if you'd like. while there is a BIG patio outside of the lodge...for those that either smoke or want to hang outside...the band...all the "main activities"....food....booze...prizes....Karaoke...and on and on...is INSIDE. there is a large ballroom where we do all the activities.

For the group ride Saturday, we will NOT start any ride in the rain (not going down that mountain...not taking that liability!). so should it be raining at 930....we'd move the start time of the ride BACK. We've NEVER...in the 9 previous years...canceled a group ride. One year...the Talladega year, we had to move the ride back several hours. But as those who RAN THE TRACK can tell you, it was WELL worth the wait!

last year, the ride started dry...but alas, we got caught in the rain going to Barbers/races. this year, i think we're actually going to have better weather. in the unlikely event it looked like it would rain ALL day....then...we'd cancel the group ride. First, there is hardly any chance of rain. Second, as i've said...we have no problem moving the start time back a bit. Third, your packet includes...among MANY other things...a map of the ride....should you elect to want to go without us for whatver reason.

we have four Road Captains who have pre-ridden the route...and who will guide FOUR groups on the ride. We also have a Tail Gun for the LAST group...who will tail the whole group...just in case.

at the restaurant...we have a private room....a private cashier.

If you've been at one of my events before, you know........I'm VERY ANAL.........everything is planned out..............to the "nth" degree. I pride myself in attention to detail. i don't think you'll find too many contingencies that haven't been planned for........... Cheesy  cooldude

others who have been before, feel to chime in with your "two cents".....
