My wife bought me a new helmet for my anniversary. She couldn't get a XXL N102 modular in the color I wanted, so she updated me to the N103.  Now I am the proud owner of a slightly different helmet new out of the box.

I've been sitting around the house in it trying to figure out how long the chin strap needed to be, and if I liked it.

The N103 is heavier than the comparable sized N102. One of the things I like about Nolan is the light weight. Of course the N103 has a few more bells and whistles. The vents have changed again. The flip up button has changed again. I like both of those changes so far. We'll have to see how it works day in and day out before I truly pass judgment. Seems like it will be easier to hit on both counts.

The coolest part about the N103 is the flip down inner sunshade. Very Iron Man. Cool flipping action.

After a few days of sitting around the house in the helmet I decided to try it out today. The first day in a new helmet is always a bit odd. I suppose that helmets are like boots and always seem the most comfortable and best fit before they're about to fall apart.

I felt like the weight was heavier and might detract from my opinion as I walked up the hill to my bike (wearing the helmet).  As soon as I turned the bike into the sun, and hit the flip button I decided I like this helmet.  I wear glasses so sun shielding has always been an issue. Clip on shades squish in my glasses and never really worked, combined with the fact that I keep forgetting to tote a pair. The flip down shade will be nice. I wonder if it will hold up? We'll see.

I'm about to head out to lunch and try out my new helmet again.

A buddy of mine just bought an HJC with the flip down sun visor.  They do seem pretty nice, you'll definitely never forget were you put your shades!!

I could never wear a Nolan helmet.  I once worked with a guy named nolan, he was a dick.

Luckily despite the changes the internal shape still seems to be the basic shape of my head. This is my third Nolan. They tend to break in and fit me very well. We'll see on this one. Not a bad first day. Wish I'd been able to ride more to give it more of a chance. Alas, work managed to get in the way.

I have 2 HJC's and a Nolan. I got the Nolan last and I've found that the little wickerbill running L to R on the top rear of the helmet really keeps the wind vibration down. When I went back to my HJC recently, I got a reminder of that wind vibration again.
Looking at one of the new symax's but may have to go with the Nolan again.
