Car Tire and Trailer Hitch

I run a car tire and with minimum clearance. Will adding a trailer hitch create any additional problems. Where does the hitch bracket mount? Next to the fender or on the outside of the fender brace. Thanks

I have the Big Bike Parts hitch. Mine bolts to the fender grab rails then goes under the rear of the fender. The saddlebag mount cross tube is between the hitch and the tire. Here's a pic.

The HitchDoc mounts on the outside of the fender rails between the bags and the fender. It crosses under the fender at the back. No issues with interference with the tire.

I reversed my bolts for safe measures. Put the nut on the outside. I can't remember if I used the same bolts or bought some flat head high strength ones. Anyhow, no problems for me after many, .any miles with a 55 or 60 car tire.
