We had to put our mutt dog, Sassy, down this evening. 13-years old with spleen cancer. She was my wife's pride and joys. Given the choice of me or the dog...she would have picked the dog, and I wouldn't blame her. That cursed dog was too smart and cunning for her own good. It is truly like loosing family.

Sassy..rest in peace, and give those squirrels in heaven, hell!

Love ya girl  Cry

When you have a dog that long it's like losing a family member. Time takes away the hurt but not the memories. My condolences. Cry

Sorry to hear that...We lost our mini-schnauzer (14 yr old) " pebbles"  3 years ago, and my wife still cries sometimes.  She was an awesome part of the family. People that are not dog owners  don't understand.  Every Christmas, there she is in all the photos,  Before prom.. pictures of the kids taken outsde in the front yard....there she is in the window....etc.......Really sorry to hear of your loss, tell her we FEEL your pain....Mike

I have 2 pugs Crackers and Ellie Mae and Noah tells everyone they are the daughters I never had. They are a big part of our family and I don't think they know they are dogs. I dread the day that they won't be here. They show unconditional love, always happy to see me and  were a big comfort to Noah and I when Steve died.

Sorry to hear of your loss! We lost our 10 year old Boxer back at Christmas. It was a sad time. I have posted this before, as have some others, but I always get comfort from reading it: Rainbow Bridge

This is how I hope it is when I pass. I can't envision a Heaven without our furry friends!

Sorry for your loss.  Had to put down our dog Murphy last August.  It is losing a part of the family.

I am always sorry to hear it when one has to part with their pet (family member).  Our male Pembroke Welsh Corgi is going downhill fast and I really dread that day when it comes to our home, but I know that it won't be long now.  It is amazing how we can all come to love an animal so much...JTL Cry

So sorry to hear of your loss. These furry little critters can certainly get to ya. We lost our little Eddy just 2 months ago, it was very unexpected.

Dogs are truly man's best friend. A friend of mine used to say if you want to know how forgiving a dog can be try this: Lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car for a couple of hours and when you open it to let them out see which one is glad to see you.
