I have a leather pouch on my VTX1800 located in front of my speedo just in back of the windshield. On my Std. Valk, the tach and speedo are in the way so I can't use the same pouch. What I keep in the pouch is extra sun glasses, lic/registration and gloves.

I saw a narrow pouch system that is installed the whole width of the windshield located on the bolts that secure the lower part of the windshield. It would sit above the tach/speedo. It had several 3"x6" (approx) pouches within the length of the band. This was on a HD.

With the tach and speedo located where it is, how can I solve this problem? My wifes Yamaha V-Star 950 has the exact same problem.

HELP!

Not sure about the Yamaha but you might want to check into a Tank Bib ... and I think a vendor may be a sponsor. I keep a pocket Rand McNally, kickstand plate, flashlight and my MP3 in mine but I only have the one pocket.

Another alternative I use occasionally is a home made tank bag.  I have a soft leather fanny pack that I cut the strap off of and super glued 2 PC Hard Drive Magnets  inside the top corners of the rear compartment of the bag.  Those are very strong magnets by the way.  I use it as a tank bag on either bike, that is easily removed and stored in the bags or trunk of either bike.  It also makes a handy bag to put over the tank chrome to prevent glare when needed.   I have a small and a larger bag that I use on either bike if needed.

I really like my leather handlebar bag.  I used some large zip ties to attach it to the handlebars.  It holds a couple of tarp straps, some nylon straps, extra lighter and matches, and some zip ties.  I expect it would hold sunglasses and gloves.  It is not waterproof.

I can't tell you where to find one.  I bought mine second hand off ebay in 2006 for $10.53 plus $6.05 shipping from Hawaii.

These are the best pictures I could find.

+1 on the tank bib.. I wanted something like you wanted but could never find one that worked. Settled for a Hopnel tank bib and like it. The pouch is also removable.

You mean something like this?...............

I have one like that one on my windshield, only it has studs instead of the conchos.

Stop leaving your license/registration out where it's easily swiped. That's asking for trouble, put the darn things under the seat in the storage area or carry it in your wallet. I figure I'll get a lot of flak from others about that. So be it....it needs to be put in a place where it can't be taken by someone. I've seen it happen, and it has happened numerous times in Daytona during Bike Week.

Get the HD one.  cooldude I have it and its the best out there. No sagging bags. The 3 pouch of the HD will fit the oem shield contour quite well. I loosened the nuts and placed it between the hardware and rubber shield protector. The middle will be slightly above the mounting shield bracket but I place a patch, yes a patch with a choosen sloagan of your choice  Wink , so it dont scratch the shield. Pouches hold alot. I got all my road necc in it and some I haven't needed to use...yet!  Wink $100 at the dealer and seem them as low as $20 on ebay.
