removable silencer for Valkyrie???
«

I am trying to appease my guilty feelings of leaving the house early between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM on my 1998 Valkyrie with Glass pack Truckers... sounds like a Porsche but tis a tad loud for that time of day... Anyone have any ideas that don't involve changing out pipes? I remember old cars having some kind of a cut off, or is their some kind of plug you can put in for about 5 minutes then remove?
I know I am probably dreaming...

You need to change for font to white for these old eyes to see it on this monitor.
Yep, blue is hard to read against dark gray.
If you left click and highlight the text you'll be able to read it.

Push it out of the neighborhood, then start it?

I have Mark T's silencers which slip in the end of the truck stacks and are held in place by a small bolt. I just leave them in, as removing them from a hot muffler would be awkward.

Is it too far out to idle out?
If not, problem solved, idle it out.

I agree. But, if by some chance they are not already up and about... they should be thanking you for helping them get up so they are not late for work. And if they don't work .... they should be getting up making breakfast for their husbands or something.....

Be careful when poking bears with a stick, they often take the stick away and beat you with it!

Yup, a few angry neighbors, especially if they are activist inclined can make it very hard on all the bikers in your town.
The evidence is all around the country, towns coming up with laws (overly regressive) specifically aimed at the motorcycle noise problem.
I thought all the geriatric population has hearing deficiencies but when it comes to motorcycles is appears their hearing has become acute and sensitive. LOL
Me,,, around the home-40 I take extra precaution to go slow and quietly.
