I have the forks and front tire off the bike. As I was polishing up the bars I noticed they were loose. I could grab it and it felt like play in theneck of it. I replaced the bearings last year and only put 8,000 miles on it since then. When I ride it feels fine, no wondering or wobbling. I just thought the bars should have no play. What are your thoughts?  Evil

Going over a speed bump at a moderate pace will surely reveal a loose front end.  A loose front end will feel fine when it is loaded with the weight of the bike. Suicide is lacking a couple turns of the nut.  Hope you use a manual for that kind of work.
