Well no not really but when I am on the gas I hear this buzzing that is about the same register as the cricket chirping when I had those non honda brake pads

Its not the pads tho cause its only when I am on the gas.   What could it be

EVen ear plugs didnt really help   Could this be the dreaded cross member bolt buzz?

I have an interstate

Any help would be appreciated as the noise gives me a real bad headache  I actually came home after just 2 hours I couldnt take it anymore

Not to sound too stupid but is it maybe a snap or somthing like that  on your clothes?   That has happened to me before when I had some loose clothing/strap whipping around.
Probably not the cause but ya got my 2 cents
adios

actually I once heard a tapping noise and that was it but this is only when I am giving the bike throttle,

As soon as I let off the throttle the buzzing noise goes away

Thanks for the idea though

If it's not the "Bolt" it may be the "Radiator shroud" , raise the RPM's and hold it with your hand?

Have you checked the vacuum lines to cylinders 3,4, and 6 lately?  Sounds like one has a split, they sound like crickets chirping when that happens.

Certain wind conditions the snap on sunvisor snaps on my helmet will vibrate on mine.  Sounds like the bike though!

thanks and also to those in the chat room last nite

I will ride off the gas (I just topped off at the end of my last ride) and when I get to reserve I will take off the tank and look at those lines after spraying them with either wd or carb cleaner to listen for changes in the engine idle

Also will be getting 3' of silicone 5/16 vacuum line per 3W's suggestion.

why only those cylinders?

Two things OSS

1.  I have to tighiten the crossmember bolt every once in a while to stop a sound exactly like you describe.  Id just tighten all the 14mm bolts on the frame both sides aroound the top of the crash bars.  NOTE: If you remove the left crash bar you can get to the third bolt on that side....also loose crash bar bolts can sing a pretty tune too

2. You big sissy......Ya dont have to wait until reserve to remove the tank.....even a  full tank is only 5 gallons or so (well 6 something on the IS) so 1/2 or 3/4 tank is still very managable, Ive removed my standard tank at near full a couple times....no problem........ lol

there are also 3 plugs on the ones that don't have lines.  They could also crack, but you can make an emergency plug by folding a longer piece of the line and clamp it with a ty-rap or string.
Technically the lines are some metric size, but 5/32 windshield washer line works fine.

Why not buy 5/32 fuel or vacuum line which is made to withstand heat rather than that plastic stuff for washers that will crack faster than OEM vacuum line most of the time??????

Oss:
Only those cylinders have vacuum lines.  6 goes to petcock, 3 and 4 go to the air valve.  The others are capped off.
