Just got back from a ride - kept smelling gas - seems to be leaking gas from the hose to the turn off valve, but only leaks when running !!!  Undecided

Turn off the bike it quits leaking ???  tickedoff

New hose ?? Or something more sinister ???  Sad

Might well be the petcock starting to fail.  Is it coming out the weep hole on the bottom of the petcock?

I was thinking - I did run with choke full ON for several miles  uglystupid2 smelled gas - corrected I thought - turned choke off - stopped a few miles latter and filled tank - then smelled gas again while riding home - that's when I discoverd the leaking gas  Roll Eyes

I gues I'll give it chance to settle and go check it again in a few hours  Angry

Is it a stock valve or straight mechanical?

Check and replace clamps and hose. seems the petcock is working correctly.
You are sure that it is coming out of the fuel hose and not a carb overflow hose?
If it is carb overflow hose, a float valve is stuck open.

carb overflow hose Cheesy   I have not traced back yet, but would'nt the carb overflow hoses be under the cabs someplace and leading to the ground  Undecided   It looks like its following the hose back from the tank to the valve  ???   Yes it's the orginal OEM valve, that I had rebuilt last year  coolsmiley

Hoping it's just the hose and clamp  Cheesy

There are 2 carb overflow hoses usually looped over the rear carb brace near the gas line. One for each side. Can easily mislead you as to what is leaking.

Sure enough  Grin - when I went to take the tank off,  both hoses poped right off just from lifting the tank skightly - hmmm  Sad, after inspecting the hose I could see that the fuel hose had a little tare (cut) in it -  Shocked I changed out the air cleaner last month and used pliers to try re-attach hose  tickedoff, that must have cut the hose.  uglystupid2 Apparently I did not have a good conection either !!!

Purchased some new hose and different clamps, had to splice, could not reach the end of the fuel hose in the T conection  ??? !!!   Not seeing a leak now Smiley   Wink
