I've got a 99 Interstate with the stock CB and everytime I ride for any length of time in the rain, the radio and cb cuts out and is replaced with a sound similar to a screaming banshee. I have tried taping the headset connectors with electrical tape but water still seems to be getting in somewhere. Anybody found a solution to the problem with their rides?

I've heard that odd things happen with the control module in the rain.  I carry a baggie and small bunji cord to cover it.  Just another thing to check.

I got the screaming banshee noise, once upon a time.  It turned out that it was a break or a short in my microphone wiring.  I fixed that, and it went away.  I would suspect that water is getting into the mic circuit somewhere.  Does it happen when your headset isn't plugged in?
Focus on the headset itself.
