I recently installed the Rattlebars peg relocation kit suggested by some on this forum.  I relocated the pegs as far forward as I could. It makes a world of difference, me being 6' 5" with a 36 inseam.  However, now the shift lever seems a bit cramped to comfortably allow my size 14 shoes under.  Downshifting is fine where it is, but upshifting is a bit awkward.

It seems to me that having a bit shorter shift lever, like maybe even a couple inches shorter, would be ideal.  Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, how did you deal with it?  Any suggestions on where to find a different length shift lever that will work better?  TIA

Orginally I thought the shift lever needed to be lengthened (dumb me) but now after actually looking at it, it is obvious it needs to be shorter rather than longer with the pegs relocated forward.  This would seem to make the fix a bit more problematic.  I modified my post accordingly.

The CB1100xx is a direct replacement...you have to remove 2 of the the crash bar bolts to drop the bolt in from the top, otherwise it's a 10 minute job.

same problem here with size 14 boots.  No problems since the replacement....you'll be happy

I use Rattlebars kickshifter mainly because of my size 14s. No more trying to get my toes under the peg.

Funny this post came up just now. I was doing a search for the same topic regarding various options for the shift lever. I had the Rattle Bars Kick Shift at one point and really didn't care for it. I saw this suggestion regarding the CB1100XX direct replacement and just ordered one not more that 1 hour ago. Just by the picture alone in this thread, it should do the job and it's a much more affordable alternative! (Fingers crossed)

I gained clearance by sawing off the original peg and then drilling and taping the OEM shift lever to accept the appropriate length  1/4 inch allen headed bolt.  The rubber can be forced over the allen head.  The bolt is "lock tighted" and double nutted.

I use the Rattlebars Shifter and modified the shift lever making it shorter and remounting the peg. I think I took off about an inch. Also rotated the lever up a notch to gain more clearance under the peg. I'm only size 12's though.  Grin
