Got my new ins.  bill on the valk saturday, was surprized to see they have upgraded  accessory coverage to 3k  at no addtional cost from 1k befour. also notes they will replace them at replacement cost, if they can't be repaired . I think they are feeling some real competion from geico , going hard after bikes ..
 $165 a year , I can' complain..

Had my car insured with Allstate and my Valkyrie insured with Progressive. My car survived Katrina, my bike wasn't so lucky. Progressive was so amazing to me, not only with a check but just the concern and care I felt from everyone I delt with. Now Allstate on the otherhand was so supportive of their claim holders that (and this is a fact) their stock was upgraded by  wallstreet  because they prove more concerned with their stock holders than with their policy holders. In other words they didn't want to dig into their profits to pay claims. Needless to say I now have my car with Progressive as well and I saved  over $400.00 in the process.  cooldude

Yup...I moved my car insurance to Progressive from Allstate also.  Not because of service (or lack of) but because of price.  For equal coverage, I saved almost $100 per month with Progressive.  Now only my house is insured with Allstate since Progressive didn't offer homeowner's insurance at the time.  But I was recently informed that they are now offering it where I live...so I may be switching that too.

By the way, when I hit a deer on my bike, Progressive was great to deal with.

No holmes , I don't have any where near the heavy coverage you do, good coverage for shure if you ever have a serious situation....on the accessary coverage I believe my renewal notice said accessaries proff could be from receipts or pictures

. . ......Progressive upgraded their accessory coverage a year ago from 1K to 3K.....and will give you what you paid for those accessories....but ONLY if you can produce a reciept.....they also offer 24 hour towing for 1 dollar a month more....

FYI...when I hit a deer a couple years ago, they paid replacement costs for my accessories without receipts.  She was using a Dennis Kirk catalog for the pricing.  I printed out the web page from Rifle for my windshield.

....Im just going by what the lil Generation Xer kid that answered the phone told me last time I had a chat with them.....I learned a long time ago to get the name....date I called....and ext. of the person I talked to....just "incase" I had problems down the road....living in Northern Michigan, I unfortunately have to reduce my coverage every year when I "winterize" my bike....last spring when I went to put full coverage on the bike I was asking about a difference in my "off season bill" compared to the year before...the girl told me ...Oh...thats because you didn't have ...Fire coverage...this time around, and you did last year....and I was like...so...you,re telling me that if my house burned down...you wouldn't have covered my bike ?.......uhh...yeh...thats right...(Home Owners doesn't cover it)....and I was like...well...why didn't they give it to me like they did....the year before ? ....and she was like....ummmm...thats a good question....so I said...how much extra was the fire coverage for the year...and she goes....ummmm...10 bucks.......needless to say I was dumbfounded....and now every year I make sure I have....Fire Coverage....when I reduce my coverage for the winter....I don't care who your carrier is....watch em like a hawk..

David, that is the reason I leave my coverage the same the year around.   My OLD company screwed me over on my upgrade bringing the bike out of Winter coverage.......  Thank God I never had a wreck.   Ended up my agent caught it just as I was ready to put it in Winter Storage that Fall.   Put the coverage on they forgot and it hasn't changed since.......  Still FULL coverage plus a little added on for extra, like to cover the sue happy people who reproduce in this world.

I got a gripe with my company, I have 3 cars, 2 motorcycles, and my house with them, and my bike premium went up because my credit score changed!  Its still well over 700, and I'm pissed, so I'm lookin to change.  Should I give them a chance to change it, or just do it?  Hoser  Angry Angry Angry

Did the insurance company come right out and tell you that was the reason?

I doubt it is, but what do I know.....

Yeah, they sent a form letter, outlining the new law that allows any company to do that, it was with my regular notice.  The part that po's me off the most, was it was a very small drop, just made an accounting error and had to pay a late penalty on a loan a couple of months ago.  That's a different story that po'd me off also, 2 days late!!  I'm tellin ya it's gettin to be a mess in this country.  I may just  tap the retirement and pay off every thing.  Shocked
