Just pulled in.  667 miles by the odometer, but it SEEMS to be reading a little less than actual.  I'll have to figure that out.

Runs pretty good.  It has a little stumble at light load and low RPM's.  It's already better, but I'll bet some seafoam will help even more.

I left Charlottesville Va at 6:30 this AM.  I had 5 gas stops... more than the bike NEEDED, and a lunch at Hooters, and still made it here in 10 hours.  11 total for the trip, so I beat Google Maps estimate.

I got MONSOONED on last night in Charlottsville, and decided to hide in a hotel for the night.  Weather was great today until I was 20 miles from home... when I got rained on again for 15 miles or so.  Just enough to have wet pants when I got home.

Overall it was a good trip.  I tried hard to keep the speedo to about 80, although it kept creeping up to 90.

I'll post more tomorrow.

Mine layed around in a garage for three years with very little use from the dude I got it from . It had a " dead " spot when I would accelerate . I used Seafoam and Techron both in it several times and it still had the dead spot. I used two bottles of Lucas in it and it cleared it up and has ran like a new one since. I could tell after the first bottle that it was getting better and the second bottle did the trick. I now use Lucas in all my bikes a plus with Lucas is it cost less than Seafoam and Techron. My ridin' buddy Greg bought a Interstate and it also had a miss under acceleration I gave him a bottle of Lucas on a ride one day and he said it started running better within a few miles.

Uh... yeah.

25 years ago... they added a 1% sales tax on food in Marion county (indy) to pay for the Hoosier Dome.  24 years later...  they tear the SOB down... and we're STILL paying the 1%.  Now... they build the Luc... and add ANOTHER 1% sales tax of food in not only Marion County, but all the doughnut counties around indy as well.

I HATE politicians.

There you go Joe.  It's got a few dings... but other than those.. the bike is pretty clean.  It needs a NMS tire though.

 Evil

There are some other things I want to do too.  A power point so I can charge the cell on the road.  Maybe power an IPOD too.  The wife wants passenger floor boards.  I was trying to shift with my heel all cursed day today... so I need one of them too.  I don't like the passenger boards...  and I think one of the rear speakers is blown.

33K.  32632 when I rolled outta his driveway.

I wanted to try one.  The wife is excited.  I told her this one is HERS... I am just her pilot.  and I mean it.  If she says sell it... I will.  I think she'll like this one better than my standard.

I bet yours weighs 50 lbs more than mine with all the shiny stuff on it.   2funny

My fatt ass MORE than makes up for that though.

I am not called Jabba for NO reason.

Planning on it.  VERY soon.  Maybe even tomorrow.

I want to swap the Progressive HD 440's off my standard too.  I'll put the stockers on the Standard.

Mount the new NMS tire then too.

Crap..  Sorry I didn't even notice them.  I tend to park my magnum way too deep without something that tells me to stop.

Funny thing is... that's what my wife says too!

Nice Jabba. Looks clean to me. My I/S had some dings from the previous owner also and not a lot of bling.
The lack of bling is no biggie to me. I buy motorcycles to be ridden. Not to be polished and oohed and ahhed over.
I'm gonna think on that idea of swapping shocks. Got the 440 HD's on my standard also. But then I really like my standard just the way it is. Much prefer the standard over the I/S.

Very nice!  cooldude

I had flown out a couple weeks ago to Phoenix to pick the latest addition. 2000 IS with 41k.

Made a trip out west from there to Lake Havasu, made it up to Laughlin for the River Run and then on up to visit my daughter for her 27th b-day in Vegas.

I know what you mean about the heel action. I had bought and received a pre-owned Heel Toe a couple of days before the trip, installed it when I hit Havasu in the parking lot of the Days Inn. I had also bought a brand new Vista Cruise throttle lock for the trip but it already had an unadvertised metal job on it, a welcome surprise for the trip home.

T-shirt travel weather the whole way, that is until I hit near the New Mex border.

I was definitely enjoying the FM radio and speaker set up. No rear speakers, just added those today. The accessory plug in for the mp3 was also a great feature since the stations through much of western New Mexico were heavily filled with TALK radio.  tickedoff

I also noticed a bit of a hesitation at lower rpm, lower gears. Ran a can of seafoam in two doses with slight improvement. Will have to check out the Lucas product.

Good luck with the new toy and glad you had a safe trip back.

Congrats on a nice purchase, Jabba.  The I/S definitely has more creature comforts for long distance.

I have a ball/string also in the garage for my wife's car to help with parking.  Lady Di uses it more for a "guide" than an absolute!  Grin

I like my standard too, but I'll ride it 1-up, set up solo I think.  I could live with the stock shocks alone.  My wife and I need the HD's together.  The new ones are like $650!! holy crap on a cracker... when did THAT happen?

Jabba Jr.  uses them for baseball practice too.  (Chest puffed out...)  He's 3... is 42" tall, weighs 45 lbs, and is a couple years ahead of his peers in physical skills.  He LOOKS like a ball player swinging the bat, and is already consistently hitting pitched balls.  (Back to regular, non bragging daddy mode)

Yeah, I may not have chosen the wisest path.  The deal was done over a month ago, but I let the bike lay in Port Orchard, Washington until this next week.  A month out gets better air fares and better prospects for weather over the Rockies (what happened to that?).  I'm planning to spend a couple of days in Sacramento with my sons and then swing around to meet up with folks in Tucumcari for Memorial Day weekend.

Congrats to you and we'll get together down the road.
