I know I've seen pics somewhere of Harley hardbags mounted on a Valk & if memory serves me correctly they looked pretty good.
I'm going to turn my '99 Standard into a Tourer but I'm finding the stock Honda hardbags to be too rich for this project. Besides I already have 2 Tourers in the garage. Cool
Harley bags seem to be MUCH more available in these parts for much less money than Honda bags command. I don't want to use any cheapo afternmarket bags & the National Cycle bags are a bit more than I want to spend too. HD bags look to be about the right size & are good quality too. Fabbing brackets is no problem for me & I already have a nice OEM Tourer windshield ready to bolt on. I should have the '99 project Valk ready to go in a week or so... sans hardbags of course!  Grin
'99 stripped down to clean & check over.

BTW... anyone here have a good deal on some HD hardbags??

Ted Abbott aka KCK from oHIo built the Honda-Harley

He had HD bags on his Std.

Go to this site and holler at him.

He still has pictures of the old girl.

Even though we lost track of her.

I put HD hardbags on my Honda VTX.  The size and looks are great but the latches on my I/S  are much better.  If I did it again, I'd look for some bags from a Honda GL1500.

I have three styles of touring bikes, the Harley Bags are made of Nylon not Plastic and will

take a lickin.

teh Closure is simple and almost bullet proof , good choice.

If you can steal some Harley hardware and get the Zeus Fasteners(Just like they used on WWII

planes) they are a snap with no tools to take off.

Look at a friends Harley Bagger and you will be very impressed.

Yep Al, that's where I first got the idea. One of my buds has a 2007 Street Glide & the bags look just about right size for a Valk. He said HD has used the same or very similar hardbag on lots of models for a lot of years. That should make the availability of decent used ones a lot better than good used Honda bags.
Maybe I'll get real lucky & get a set in black!  coolsmiley

I have thought about doing that for YEARS on my standard and never pulled the trigger.
