I have a hitch doc and went 7k miles last summer with it and trailer and am very happy with it. I can remove the ball and you can hardly tell I have a hitch.

I started with this website http://www.gonzos-garage.com/bike/Valkyrie_Receiver_Hitch.htm and a thread by BigBf in the Tech Section and used that information to build my own that I modified to also support my home-made saddle bags.  Here's a pic before it was cleaned up and painted.

Hey Gman,
I have a hitchdoc hitch, as seen in earlier post, that is for a standard that I mistakenly purchased for my tourer.  I will sell it to you.  It's a chrome vertical reciever hitch in basically perfect condition .  email me if interested.

I have a HitchDoc on MGM (Tourer) and it has been there over 10 years now, except for a period of 2 months 5 years ago..

Also, I did not know there was a difference between a STD and a Tourer hitch.......   My hitch was on a STD for about 2 months while he and his wife were traveling all over the United States....

The only difference between the standard and tourer hitch is the length of the mounting bolts. The tourer needs a little longer bolt because of the hard bags.

I hate to disagree with ya Misfit, but I tried it on my tourer and it forces the top of the hard bag mounts out too far for the bags to mount correctly.  Think about it, if you move the top of the mounts outward and the bottom stays the same place, the bags don't have a "square" place to mount.  Anyway, Hitchdoc indicates a different model for the tourer/interstate.

Anyway razor, I hate to disagree with you also, but HitchDoc tells me the hitch is the same just the mounting hardware is different.........   I do believe that is what I said in my previous post.....       The spacers are what is different and a longer bolt.........

It mounts outside the fender just like the hitch-doc.  I painted it silver...the same as my bike.  With my saddle bags mounted, you can just barely see it between the bags and fender.

Check this one out, it's a bit smaller but really nice indeed.

As per hitches, Hitchusa.com has a bunch of them too.
