i have a 1998 tourer it has 65,000 miles on it. at a idle it has a tick sound in the motor on the left side was wondering if anyone has had this same issue. could it be spark plug exhaust values. any info would be great. thanks for looking

more than likely....three of my bolts were below torquing spec...tightened them up and went away...

Careful there!

Those studs break pretty easily and having a few on hand prior to messing with them is recommended.

Always use an anti-seize when assembling those parts.

Has the bike been de-smogged??? It could be the pair valve assembly if the noise appears to come the center of the engine.. If the noise definitely from the side of the engine then it probably is an exhaust gasket and they can be a son-of-a-gun to get to seal.. Be very careful when tightening them,, just snug them lightly[7 ft-lbs]

Re-torque to correct specs and it'll most likely disappear.

You might just be hearing the sound coming from the little drain hole on the bottom of the exhaust.  It can sound a little like a ticking noise on a quiet stock exhaust.  Run your finger along the bottom untill you find it, cover it and see if it goes away.

I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to
