I'm the friend mentioned and I am looking forward to replacing my rear tire.  I got 17k on this rear but plan on putting on a Goodyear Triple Tread or summat now that I've got cord showing on the 'Lop.

Hey, Marc!  How are you planning on getting that Goodyear down there?

Just curious.

Any chance you still have my ice chest from about 3 years ago MOOT Mag?

Why can't you guys have your Darkside Party on the normal wrench party day?  I am all ready to do it, even have my u-joint to get replaced, and MOST people have to work Fridays....

Maybe I can sweet talk the boss into a half a day off on Friday so I can participate.

It's not a formal wrench party! People need things done and I'm here most of the time anyway. Both days are NO PROBLEM !

Ray, I do have that ice chest!  LOL, I ran across it on Sunday when i was cleaning the garage.

As for the folks grumbling about days off... tickedoff..I was taking Friday off anyway cause I'll be a parrot head on Thursday night.   cooldude

As far as the tire is concerned.  I had planned on using Allen as my pack mule until he decided to plug his rear tire on the Valk and ride down. Smiley My thought was to stop at the Walmart on Hiway 6 in pearland, pick up the new rubber and head on down to Rosharon and Wizards place.  (Wizard, thanks for having me!!)

Now I'm gonna punt.  With enough bungee cord I should be able to strap the sucker to the back of the Valk.  We'll see.

I had also hoped to get a couple of other things done while in Rosharon.  I just picked up a new Garmin that I need to wire and mount.  Also need to replace the air filter and I wanted to have better mechanics than I take a look at my header gaskets.  With 121K on the clock I'm starting to seep a bit of oil.  Nothing major but it mucks up my chrome.  Smiley

hahaha, I too have a GPS cable to route under the gas tank!  Man, it is turning into a DS and GPS wrench party!  woohoo!
I will try and get off at noon on Friday and get one of the 2 things done, so we will have more time on Saturday to do the other things.

Wow!  Sounds like another great wrench party in process.  Glad I got mine done early.

Let's see, recent wrench party I have changed air filter, installed new Garmin 220 GPS (including routing the hard wire), replaced upper rear shock bushings.  Surely must have been something else.

Now, if I hadn't slept since then, maybe I could remember how we did it all.

Hey Allen,

When would you like to get your special ceramic bead pneumatic junk shot tool back?
With that new generation mc tire change this weekend it would come in handy.  Grin

Amazing!!!   I go out of town, and the party's on!!  I'll be in Dallas, y'all have fun.

You'll have to work out lunch on your own.  I will make sure we have soft drinks, though.

Be safe!

Hey Wizard! Do you happen to have the carb synch tool?  The lady is running rough and probably missing above 2000 rpm, can feel it in the handgrips.  I 'm thinking she is missing pretty bad on one cylinder.  Not likely to be plugs as I am less than 15k miles.  Any ideas?  Seafoam first? Thanks

I don't thin you need to synk the carbs ? You need to adjust the air/fuel mixture, and I do have that tool.

Synching is a good way to finish up a carb job, though.  Easy to do if you've got the gauge set, and good idea.  I'll see what I can do to organize getting the group's set over there, if you want it...

Awesome Wizard! Thanks.  Air / Fuel sounds like a good idea as she like the cold air, but has never been really happy with hot Houston days, (which we seem to get once in a while!)   Grin

Would not want to suggest that anyone is getting old, but, where are the dynabeads, Alan.  Oh, yeah, and where did you leave the PatchBoy valve stems?   Hmm, well, there is always Saturday.

Love ya, man!

See you all Saturday.

And here I am in Dallas, missing all the fun .....

I arrived safely, managed to not be part of what appeared to be a multi vehicle accident which sparked a few extra collisions along the way.

I'm fine.  Saw some rain, saw the aftermath of a wreck or two.  No problem.  Even had dinner with Daniel and Carey.  It was a good day.  Now I get to listen and try to learn something for the next three days.  That's the challenge, not the drive up or back!

I would be interested in coming down and hanging out at least (though wouldn't mind changing the oil/final drive oil if possible while there), but I don't actually know where "there" is...

Well, the reason I was off work today was to go to Dr. to get my DOT physical.  By the time I got through with those folks, it was late enough that I would be finishing up pretty late in the afternoon. One thing I try to avoid is driving in Houston on a Friday in the afternoon. In both a car or on a bike, though I have to do it in my 18, but I'm bigger than everyone else who's trying to kill me.  I'll see you Sat. morning Jimmy.  I've packed my trailer with the tire/wheel, dyna beads, Ride-ON sealant, and a J&M headset speaker for you.  Manana ya'll  cooldude

See you in the morning Bobby. I don't know if the speaker will work on my Honda headset. I might try ro solder it in the place of the broken one.
I'm gonna change my oil tonight to leave more time for DS and running wires under the tank. Smiley

P.S.  I have just received my o-rings and will have extra sets on hand tomorrow if anyone needs them.
