I was attending a seminar the other day and saw a guy with a very nice Harley dress shirt; I complimented him on his shirt and asked him if he rides? He said yes, he has a 2009 Roadglide and before he had a 2002 Dyna Lowrider. I asked him why he liked Harley’s so much and he said there is simply no other bikes like Harley’s. I asked him how he knows that, if he had other bikes before. He said yes, he had a Yamaha V-Star and a Honda CB long ago. He then said that he will never go back to any Japanese bikes. I asked him what about a Valkyrie, since I ride one and I am very happy with mine? He said that they were nice, but you have to get the 850cc since the 650cc is way underpowered!
I just smiled and said – yea, I have the 850cc. I really felt sorry for the guy!

Harley Davidson - efficiently converts fuel to noise without the unwanted side-effect of horsepower!

True story, in 02 for my 58th birthday, my wife convinced me to get a motorcycle, even thou I had never owned or ridden one before, she loves Harleys. My friend who owns a 2K Interstate tried to convince me to get a Valkyrie. He said the bike would speak for itself, but no, I like my wife, wanted a Harley. Bought an 02 Ultra Classic, Black beauty I called it. My friend told me if I wanted to learn to ride I needed to ride it every day, I did for a week. After 10 miles of riding, he looks at Black Beauty and said whats that dripping from you bike, I hope thats not oil. It was and it never stopped leaking, compensator nut worked its way loose, voltage regulator went out, and the sales manager felt sorry for me and bought it back some 8 months later. Guess what I ride now.

If you are riding and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

I am a lucky man. I know that. SHe's a good woman. I have been married almost 19 years. We have a 3 year old boy. She's seen me own 3 dirt bikes, 2 quads and 7 street bikes in that time. She doesn't do a lick of maintenance, ain't great at keeping house, and she ain't much of a cook. But she makes a little more money than I do... and she lets me buy toys. Jabba

Jabba Just curious...How hard did she have to work to convience you to buy another Valk? All mine did was say she liked it and I should bid on it when I showed her the photo on Ebay. Took a whole 5 seconds... I guess I am just easy like that...

For us... it was more of she didn't fight me about it. I showed her a few... and since she wasn't trying to talk me OUT of it... that's her way of lobbying FOR it. She admitted that she WAS excited about it though. She still has not gotten to ride it yet. We just been busy and the weather has been bad all week. Jabba

Man they are hard to understand. Mine did the same thing with the 1st bike I bought. She knew I was stressing over it and had looked at several and showed her several but she would never say yes or no. After I bought it she told me that she was glad I did... So, if there are any women out there reading this when your man ask you opinion he really does want it, Unless of coarse it is contrary to the way he is wanting to go...

I got mine in 00 She liked it. After a few years she hated it. I cant tell you how many fights we would get into about me wanting to ride somewhere. Kicked her ass out in 06. Met Kit later that summer. Now we ride all the time. She has riden since she was younger. From 00 to 06 with the X I had 18k on the clock. 06 to current with Kit 56k. She rides 95% of the time with me. We have done alot with/on the bike. Some stuff we shouldn't but what the H3ll, you only live once. Wouldn't trade her for the world. Funny thing is she bought her hubby a Electra Glide for x-mas. I knew she couldn't due without for to long.
