Hiway Pegs

I currently have highway pegs mounted on my engine guards. My problem is the clamp doesn’t hold tight enough so the pegs rotate away from my feet.
My question is, what can I wrap around the bar increasing the diameter so the clamp has more of a bite. I thought about tape, sand paper and a strip of rubber. I haven’t tried anything yet.
Any suggestions?

I have 1 1/8" Kury P Clamps. They too rotate when pressure is applied. I cut a thin strip of roof flashing (aluminum) which tightened it up just fine.

Once I was sure I had the pegs where I wanted them, I used a piece of thin walled 1" PVC pipe, with a little Gorilla Glue. Cut the pipe the length of the bracket and a slit down the side allowed it to snap on over the engine guard.

Leather. Use a 1-1/8" clamp if your putting it on the curved part of the crash bars.

Ditto on the leather. that's what old belts are for.

Another thing that works surprisingly well is to take an aluminum can and cut a strip of the appropriate width and length. Use the strip as a shim, like the rubber and leather that were suggested. The aluminum can already has a curve to it and will conform nicely to your highway bars.
If you need more "shimmage" cut the strip longer. If you need less "shimmage" cut the strip a little shorter until it fits just right.
This also works if your handlebar clamps get worn and loose for some reason.
