i picked up a second IS couple months ago 2000/15k miles,very very clean. the rear tire is a Brideestone [made in japan] & looks to have 60-70% left on it.i read that there is a 11 or 12 didget # on the tire that will tell mo. & year made but i'me not finding shuch info.surley that tire is not original with 15k?any leads to determin age or should i just start fresh?

Not original, for sure.  If it looks good and has no dry-rot, cracks, or other signs I would run it!

Factory dunlops didn't seem to get great milage so tire was probably changed at 7-9K so bridgestone doesn't have too many miles on it. Look for dry rot cracks. If tire looks good I'ld run it awhile longer.

Bridgestones were not the OEM tire, Dunlops were.  hoser
