Well I just put the new Shinko tire that I bought last summer on the front and it totally resolved the issue of low speed wobble.

It is like a brand new bike in the handling department.

The transition is very noticeable with the new tire and steering effort has been significantly reduced.

Put on the new Shinko in anticipation of the ride to the ROT rally in Texas next month.

Got 15k miles out of the E-3 and will probably not buy another Dunlop. I have some interest in seeing how many miles I'll get out of the new Shinko.

You have a low speed instability in the front?  Probably the tire. Can't dismiss the bearing however.

I'm a happy camper now - again!

i've had e3's on both my I/S's (fronts only), buddy also, not any wobble at all.
i'm thinking just a bad tire.

put an avon on recently, no wobble handles ok, just really noisy.

interested in hearing how the shenko works out though.

I just bought a 99 interstate with fairly new E3's on it and it is all over the road.  Switched the front wheel from my standard (shod in avon cobra) and it is now rock solid.  E3's are crap.  Just ordered a couple Metzler 880's for both bikes as the Avon is about toast.

I put on a Dunlop D404 on the front last year and it is working great. We'll see how it handles once it wears down a bit after another year or so. My first three fronts were Avon Venoms and were good, the last one, a Cobra was out of round and so replaced it with the D404 as an experiment. The original stocl front was ok but the Avon was much better. The Dunlop is both quiet and smooth. Maybe the next one will have to be a Shinko?

Yep, I am very pleased with this Shinko.  (adding) SHINKO F747 front

The profile is a better rounded tire than the E-3 and as a result it has less steering resistance.

I lowered the air pressure down to 36 psi and that's where it is the best.

I had bad experiences with Dunlop E3's on my VTX... worst tires I ever had.  Front tire wobble or shimmy from day one.  I was not impressed with the mileage either.   I now have Avon Venoms on both bikes and a spare set of Shinko tires in standby for whichever bike needs em first.

Do you have a Shinko 747 or 757 front tire??  I ordered the spare Shinko tires but received a 747 rear and a 757 front somewhat later.  I inquired and the 747 front was being reworked due to some issues.  Now that I have a mismatched set I am coordinating with DLP to get the 747 replaced with a 757, when they come out here soon.  Hopefully I won't need it too soon.....
