Hey All

I bought my 2000 IS about a month ago. It has the OEM CB installed on it.

Here's the problem: I just got my headset installed in my helmet and went to try it out. I can get the radio to play through the headset, so I know that it's working properly. I cannot get the unit to switch to the CB though. Pushing function just rotates through radio and aux. I assume that this is what happens when you don't have a CB?

The previous owner said the CB works well and I vaguely remember him showing me how to switch to it, which worked fine at the time.

I installed a fuse panel and rewired a few extras under the right side cover. Is is possible to unhook something here that would cause this? Also, the previous owner moved the cable out for the rider's CB to the tank bib (versus on the dash where it normally is). While the tank was off, there was some pulling on that cable because the cable is zip tied to the tank bib. Is it possible that the cable came unattached inside the fairing?

Any other possibilities?

Look under the trunk and see if you have a CB Radio bolted to the bottom. You should also have 2 antennas.  If you have both, then it is dead and something may be unplugged somewhere.  Bu pushing the selector, you should go through: Radio, Radio + CB, Aux, CB, Aux + CB, Radio .....  OK, maybe not the exact sequence, but you get the idea...

Yes, I have the CB and know how to switch the function. As I said, I switched to it before. I'm thinking a cable came unhooked somewhere along the way...

You were right sugerbear. I called Clintsdivco and he explained it. The cable was getting disconnected when the battery cover pushed down into it. I cut the battery cover's corner back a little bit, shouldn't be a problem now.

Thanks!

Happy ending!
Meanwhile, does anyone have or know where I can get a stock CB for the I/S?
Will a stock CB from a 1500 Wing work on this?

I believe one listed here in the classifieds.  I do not think the Wing works? A clarion from a Yamaha will work. Might need a mod.  Search here, others have posted about it.

Checked the ads, several for sale, unfortunately all come with bikes attached. I'll keep looking, thanks.
