Members of my Rolling Thunder Chapter attended another Honor Flight mission Tuesday night.  We have been to several of these and they are always very moving.  Wish I could make them all but can't because of work.

Something happened this time that has not happened before.  As the WWII vets passed thru our line of American flags, we heard singing downstairs.  The baggage claim are  always full of well wishers, flags, welcome home banners. Before you new it, upstairs was also singing.

When the final words to God Bless America were done, the cheering was as loud as I have ever heard it at Honor Flight.  It was a great homecoming for these soldiers.  Can't wait til the next one.

Just want to say thanks to all our men and women who have served or are serving our great nation.

June 23rd is the next. The Midlothian, Il. Vets committee of which I am a member recently had a fund raiser to send some of our local Vets on a flight. Although we didn't raise our full goal, we did manage to raise enough to send 30 and their guardians on this flight.
The PGR is going to escort these 30 back to Midlothian on their return. (We will not meet them as they get off, due to security reasons and being able to get all back to their bikes/vehicles.) We will thank them when we get them back to Midlothian. A few more details to be worked out, then I will have something posted on the PGR site.
