Well I had fuel accumulating on the right bank so I relaced the o rings. I still have fuel pooling on the head. Where else should I look.
Thanks Chuckie

When fuel gets past the intake O-Rings it's usually fairly gunky. If your fuel that's collecting is relatively clean I would guess a fuel line leak. Either under the tank and to the carbs or maybe from the petcock it's trailing forward along the lines.

Try to determine when it's leaking. i.e. running or off

Easiest 1st check is groping the petcock and line from it. If that's dry your probably going to have to pull the tank in order to thoroughly check the supply lines & carbs. Could be lines or o-rings at the carb T's.

If the bike has been sitting awhile, especially with drained carb bowls those supply o-rings can dry out. If that's the case your fuel leak will most likely right itself in short order when exposed to fuel again.

Is it dripping out of the weep hole on the bottom of the petcock?

Petcock, or maybe the gas line from the petcock is what I'd guess...

My buddy Gary's petcock leaked all over his motor...

Search the tech board for "cover set" to see how to rebuild your petcock...

Then maybe you should pull your intakes again and check to see which one [maybe more] isn't seated properly.
If you don't use some good upward pressure of the intake tube into the upper boots when moving them into position on the head you can end up rolling the new o-rings out of their groove and create a leak.

Chuckie, you have to absolutely find the source of the leak!

It's very dangerous to say the least.

You must find the leak!  Start looking and you should use a flashlight a small mirror and anything else you may find to help.

There is no one on this forum that can tell you where the leak is originating.

check the following:

All fuel lines above the leak including the connections between the carbs.
Fuel bowl seals.
Fuel drain ports and hoses.
Bottom right side of the gas tank including the petcock.
carb overflow hoses.
All vaccum hoses above the pool of gas.

Yes, the petcock control is on the left. HOWEVER, the petcock itself is on the right side of the tank (left/right defined as one is seated on the bike). My guess is fuel is leaking out the petcock weep hole as MP suggests. You might consider pulling the vacuum line off (#6 intake, I believe) to see if you have fuel dripping there as well.

Have you done any work on her recently (besides the o-rings) prior to discovering the leak? e.g., pulled tank, carb work, etc...

I pulled the tank to replace the air filter. I will take it off again and check pet rooster & lines.
Thanks to all for help.

hmmm... did you reconnect the vent line when you remounted the tank? It looks like a vacuum hose and connects to a nipple near the tail end (center underside) of the tank. Fuel will certainly leak from there if the vent is not connected.

Just curious...you say fuel will leak from the vent if the hose is off.......why?  Wouldnt it leak and drain through the hose just as easily.  I ask because I was read some have just eliminated that hose altogether........I doubt they would do that if it meant a sure leak??????

Embarrassed   Sorry, my bad.

No, fuel is not certain to leak. Fuel could leak if there's enough sloshing around in the tank, especially when full; Then, if the vent is not connected, one might see fuel on the engine/heads.

My apologies for poor choice of wording and any confusion I may have caused.  uglystupid2

I pulled the tank and checked petcock ok. took off the airfilter box and checked lines for crack or rot
all seemed ok. Reassembled and still have leak. It is comming from somwhere at top  of #5 carburator on the right side. Frustrating!!! Any ideas appreciated. drips off bottom of carb.
Thanks Chuckie.

Found leak! Like Pete said carb bowl gasket. It was cut though about 90% and flatened just below cut. Cut was so clean looked like a razor did it. Replaced and no leaks. Thanks to all who replied.
