I have the Valkyrie apart, the steering stem has been removed and a new lower bearing installed.
The races have been removed, the lower race was a lot of fun.  The threaded rod with washer finally did the job.

I am now ready to install the races, what is the best way to do this?
I have read that the old races are used, but how.

I plan to freeze the new races first.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks

I stacked the old races against the new ones and tapped on the old ones to drive the new ones in place, thus preventing any damage to the new races from being struck by the hammer.  Just slowly work your way around tapping gently so you don't bind them up.

And make very sure they're seated squarely.

I used the old races against the new races on both sides and a piece of All Thread, some large washers and pulled em in by tightening the nuts.

One more trick, place the new race in the frezzer for a while.
This will make it a bit smaller, then tap it in useing the old to
         drive it in.

Thanks to all, the steering stem bearings have been replaced and the Valkyrie is back together better than ever.
