I assisted Doctor Stude in performing a smogectomy on my fat lady, today, with support (parts chasing) assistance by Clintsdivco.  Thanks, buddy, and he even furnished the beer!  Continuing in his dedication to keep us Kansas riders on the road.  Just giving credit where credit is due.   cooldude  Hoser

Glad I could help you out Hoser... Oh and sure glad you remembered to bring that thrust washer that you said "fell out while you were changing the tire".  (not sure how it could fall out when it is wedged between the flange and the wheel)   Grin

Oh and if anyone is needing any spare screws or nuts... Or even a used folded up lottery ticket.  Just stop by Hoser's bike and help yourself.  I found all kinds of lost parts and a LOTTERY TICKET under the carb banks!!  I couldn't believe it.

Had a great time and glad you are happy with it.   cooldude

Joe it was nice meeting you too.  Enjoyed the afternoon entertainment.  I didn't know that a hammer was the tool of choice for some Valk owners. Evil

Hope to meet up with you to ride after I get the "new" Valkyrie back home.

Alright, now you've done it Joe,  I'm gonna buy you a rubber hammer to tap the axle through,  Now about using a socket and extension to tap in the freeze plugs, I'll get you a flat punch set, too!   coolsmiley hoser

too funny Mich...

Yeah the two times that Hoser has come over to help me work on a valk he has hollered for a hammer.  My first reaction is WHY?!   Shocked  Then I try to weasel my way into position to see what he is needing a hammer for...  Sheesh...

A good friend of mine who taught me how to work on small engines and tractors has always told me that if you need a hammer then chances are things aren't lined up.  You need to check out "why" it isn't sliding in correctly.

For the record Hoser was trying to thread the pin back in that holds the rear brakes in place.  (other side wasn't completely lined up causing the pin not to slide through, hammer not needed)  Second time was to "tap" the flange into the wheel!!!!!  coolsmiley  Yeah that is what i was thinking...   There was no lube on the lugs that go into the wheel.  I put some belray grease on them and Waaa Laaa!  Slid right in...  Hammer not needed  cooldude   Third time was for the rear axle bolt.  He thought that a hammer would help the bolt through... No need for hammer... lined everything up and all fell into place  Wink

Hoser... I am not sure about wanting to work on a bike at your place... You probably only own two tools.  BFH (big "freakn" hammer), and a BAC (big A$$ crowbar) !!!! 2funny 2funny

J/k! (about the tools you have).

Clint enjoy your trip out to the west for the second time in two months.  I have never been further west than the MOAB area...  I can't wait for the day I plan a trip out west.  Take care bud!
