Does anyone know what size bulb I need for my IS trunk? The left brake light is out, but the running light is working fine.

It is like an 1157, but has the flat, push in base.  Cannot remember the #.

Correct on the flat push in style, like the ones in your meter panel (dash) just larger. Had to do that a while back but can't remember the number either. Got'em at wally world

As long as it's a pretty common bulb, I'm not too worried then. I'll switch it when we have the trunk apart to put on the guard bars. I guess I have to get it done before the VOAI ride-in now...

I recommend that you pull the original bulb out and take it with you.   I may be mistaken but my memory says the cross reference in the link is not accurate for the interstate rear bulbs.  I know I made a hand written note to myself what the correct bulb was for future reference but now I can not remember where I put the note!

Can not find my notes, yet, but a little web search has me believing the brake/running light on the trunk of the interstate is a T6 Wedge Base #7443 dual element bulb.

I can't vouch for the accuracy of the list.  I replaced my tail lights with these (1.8"):

1fast6:

Did you modify your sockets? The clusters here all use a round plug, while the socket on the trunk is flat.
Maybe I am looking at the wrong 1.8".   OEM comes in at a 90 deg. angle, and most LED's are made to be viewed straight on.  Or is it plug and play?

Yes, I did some modifications to get them in.  First I took the red lenses apart by heating with a blow dryer.  I lined the white housings with plastic pbags and filled them with "Great Stuff" expanding foam, like cupcake pans.  Next day I took a sharp knife and cut-off the tops of the "cupcakes" so they were flat.  I used hot glue to secure the LED Clusters to the flat tops of the foam "cupcakes and cut a slice in the foam to run the wires through and out the hole where the socket was.  Then I glued the lenses back on the housings and put it back together.  I soldered them in, using a Back-Off Wig-Wag brakelight flasher.  I wired them so the wig-wag would alternate inner and outer lights when I hit the brakes.  The clesters are VERY BRIGHT, and the flasher makes it almost impossible to miss the fact that I'm slowing down.
