HELP!
I'm in Atlanta near Sandy Springs area.  The parking arm knocked me off the bike on my way out and consequently home,....
Bike runs, is scraped up, and I have a broken front brake lever.

My left thumb hurts so riding without front brakes and a weak clutch is not going to cut it.

I need a lever BAD to get me home.  I have an original at home.
Freewheeling (MOTORCYCLE shop in Douglasville ) has a lever - but they are a considerable distance from me....

is there enough left to clamp a small set of vice grips on it?  Have heard people do this to get home (any autozone or hardware store should have a set of locking pliers).  clamp them down tight on the "nub" and wrap a few wraps of tape or tie strap around it to keep it closes.  Just my 2 cents.

I got a stock brake and clutch lever... but no way to get it to you on your way home.  Even UPS wouldn't be too timely this holiday weekend.   You seem to be managing fairly well so far.... good luck.

try the Goldwing network...the brake levers for the 1500 are a direct fit..the clutch lever will fit if you hacksaw off the protrusion on the bottom.

Maybe someone here can provide a link or phone number

Don't know if you got the help needed. In the future try these guys. Network of bikers across the country. 800-4-bikers . I haven't personally had to use them but sounds like a great idea, similar to our Vortex.

UPDATE -
Found a shop 35 miles north - rode the distance carefully and made it fine.  With a new "stock" lever in hand - I completed the trip home to the Nashville area.

* Note to those that have a lever brake at the pivot point....Yer brake lights are on!  I figured it out after the cagers were riding up on my tail.  I quick "feel" and i realized that the broken lever no longer placed any force on the brake switch - so they were on all the time until i got it replaced.

- AND FINALLY -
Bike is in the shop - completely taken by the cost to repair.  They would have totaled this if I hadn't of worked a deal with Mark T for a new exhaust.  Thanks again to the Horseapple Ranch!

-AND THANKS AGAIN to you out there.  I figured it'd be hard to network out a fix last minute, but you never know.  The fact that you guys are willing is worth it.  ( And I do have a BAM motorcycle card in the wallet - just never thought of using it! )

The interstate will live.
