Be very careful how you answer.

I had a doctors appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found something very interesting I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions:

            1. Did I feel stressed?
            2. Did I feel threatened?
            3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?

The nurse then informed me, if I had answered yes to any of the questions, I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security.

I am a Vietnam vet and 15 year cc permit holder. Looks like they are going after us vets.. Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners as potential terrorists. If you are a veteran, you've been warned. If you know veterans, please pass this on to them....JTL

Ya know I had some strange questions asked of me as well when I visited.....  but I thought it more of a suicidal or PTSD awareness thing.  I could be wrong tho.  I thought it strange they asked those questions, but.... with many Vets coming back after their tours in Iraq or Afghanistan, I can kind of understand it.  Of course I didn't give them any answers that would indicate stress or PTSD, but what if they checked the wrong box on the computer......   Undecided

I used to be a mental health technician.........from being on the "other side" of the counter let me tell you  this.  NEVER discuss mental health issues with your regular Doctor.  They (regular doctors) are afraid to diagnose mental health risk, they think they will be sued (probably will, lol) So If you werent seeking it, the answer is always the PC answer, you will not get help here, they are not there for you they are asking to cover their a$$.  If you need to talk, you GO TO A MENTAL HEATH PROFFESSIONAL, they cannot disclose your conversation unless you tell them you committed a crime already or are about to, and then you should lose your CC.  If the questions come to you by someone other than a mental health professional AND!!!! you didnt seek help, smile and give the "correct" answer for its never a good thing.  However, if you need help, the Mental Health Professional is much safer than people make them out to be.  If you go... it never hurts to ask specifically what their confidentiality policy is...if you dont like it walk and find a better therapist!

And unlike that pile of sh*t Democrat from Connecticut, Richard Blumenthal, who lied (I'm sorry...mis-spoke...several times) about his service....Pharmboy was ACTUALLY THERE!

A big thanks to you and the rest of the veterans on this board for your service!

Unless you are a Muslim.

Then they will give you a list of targets.

Send you to Guantanamo and then a ticket straight to Yemen.

Politically Correct.
