Congratulations! Don't think I'd be able to have your discipline with that new Valk in the driveway! Maybe you could ride for just a few minutes...you know, to the store and back... Check out the Texas Chapter Board, too! http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/board,3.0.html

Great choice in a ride, course most of us here are a little prejudice, and rightly so. Welcome aboard.

Welcome bigguy! My last bike was a Magna -- 1983 V45, the purple one. Sold it when I left Wyoming almost 4 years ago . It was my first water cooled and my first shaft drive. I was impressed with that bike, but it wasn't made for long distances... Now I'm settled into central Utah (working at a "global warming factory" -- coal fired power plant) and finally got the funds and the permission to get another bike. I shopped for months waiting for the $$$ to grow, then TLW (The Little Woman) and I shopped for another couple of months. Almost bought a 2008 HD Ultra classic. Then I test rode the "black Standard." I liked it so I took TLW for a ride. Her first comment: "This one likes me!" That pretty much sealed the deal. And do you hear that sound? Kind of a "rattle?" More like a "jingle?" Yeah! It's the jingle of about $13,000 in spare change that I didn't donate to the HD dealer. While that would have made me a member of their "tribe," I think I like this "tribe" better. And I think I'll fit in here better too.

Congrats and welcome from another "new" Valk owner (8 days and 900 miles). Still wondering why I waited so long. Enjoy!
