So far: tested all but blue wire (haven't taken tank off yet) from servo as per manual, 4 pin connector, led comes on in servo when set/coast button & brake pedal pressed, lots of vacuum at servo hose,  cable & chain still connected properly at throttle linkage, all buttons illuminate properly on handle bar control. Anyone ever taken servo apart? All suggestions welcome...

First, did you remove the small black jumper that's located in the servo at the end of the connector strip? Second, do you have any LED's for brake and/or tail lights? If the latter, you need to install a "normaly closed" relay in the purple line. The LED's don't give you a ground circuit like the incandescent (OEM) bulbs do, so you have to create one with the relay that will break when you brake! Third, what do you have the blue wire connected to, and is the filter still intact on the blue line?

Sorry, guess I should've mentioned that unit has been installed & working properly for several years, now no go...

Any vacuum check valves in line and near the intake nipples?  They are vulnerable to fouling as the gas/air mixture does lightly travel up the vac lines about 4" or a little more.

Be sure the brake switch is operating properly.  It must be hooked up, as it feeds a low voltage all the time to the unit.  If the unit cannot sense this voltage, it will not operate.  This happened to me.

There is a trouble shooting guide in the back of the manual for it.  It tells you which wire is hot when.  That is what I used, and found the problem.

I had a wired break right in the plug that connects the control panel to the rest of the system,. It's a four wiring plug, one wiring broke right at the crimp of the pin. I removed the plug altogether and solder the wires together and shrink taped all connections no problems since. Also check the wire to the coil. If you run the purple wire straight to ground and it starts working the problem is in your brake light wiring or switch.  Use caution  with purple wire to ground as unit will not disengage when brakes applied.

Thanks guys. Checked all wires as per troubleshooting page in manual, everything checks out including brake disconnect. Is there any way of operating the cable manually? I'm thinking maybe inside casing starting to wear & hanging up or servo faulty.

You are not alone .... same here ...  Undecided
I will need to check what the guys have suggested below, but will only get to it on my return from Americade. Good luck with yours! Hopefully you will find the problem shortly ... and I will be able to benefit from your investigation/corrections!  cooldude

I had a similar problem. All the lights on the switch are working it just wouldn't engage.  On mine I wired the purple wire to a normal closed set of contacts on a relay that is operated by either brake. My problem ended up being that at some time moisture got into the relay, it was still clicking when brakes where applied, but I had 60 Ohms across a closed set of contacts enough to keep it from working. New relay and everything is ok for me.

I also had a problem with the CC cable that attaches to the bike carb linkage, that was a few years back. Good luck guys, I have had mine for 4 years and I NEED my cruise control  ~TJ

I'm hoping that we do not have a solenoid or circuit board problem as explained in this thread: Undecided

Quexpress, ever get your servo to work? I never bothered as I always used my throttle lock anyway.

Not yet LOL!
I was reading this wondering if you had.
I'm leaving in AM for a few weeks but ... "check cruise control" is on my next "to do" list.  Smiley

I had one installed and it failed and actually caused the Valk to loose a cylinder last year on the way back from a trip to TN.  I had to pull of the wire to the coil once I figured out what was wrong.  The control panel in the servo unit fried.  I had another can just replaced the control panel from one to the other and it has been fine since.

I've heard of the servo's going.  Not sure how to check for that.
