I working with a local painter on getting my entire bike painted. I'm adding an IS tank, pods and trunk so I decided to paint the entire bike. I'm interested in going with the 1999 Pearl Dark Red R223, Pearl Ivory Y137M two tone. He is going to get back with me this week. He said if he can't find a match and had to go with colorrite the price of the paint would be 4x. Does anyone know of an automotive equivilent to these colors? Especially the Pearl Dark Red.
I have the Yellow and Pearl Ivory 1998 standard now. Maybe he can scan the Pearl Ivory to match that color.

any good automotive paint store can match, Mine is the same color, redone hardbags match perfect. They have a gadget that reads the paint on the bike, bring in a fender or something. Hoser

Yes, but mine is yellow now. I have no Pearl Red to scan. I'm switching to that color.

If you mean the red and pearl from a 97. The red is a Chrysler Corp stock color you can get at any paint shop. I used it paint my tank and it was a perfect match.
Not sure what they call it may be Blaze Red Crystal Pearl RH/ARH check the color chart to be sure.

Thanks for the input. The color I'm going after was the Pearl Dark Red R223/Pearl Ivory Y137M. According to www.valkyrienorway.com that color scheme was used on the 98 STD/Tour and 99 Tour. I got this back from the painter last night so he is working on it and will get back to me. Craig- Like I said, there may be a PPG formula for it, I'll have to check. The red may be able to be scanned, but the pearl can't because it is a tri-coat and the camera can't separate the colors. Worst case, we find an OEM automotive color that is close. Thad

Dropped tins at painter yesterday. He is good in that he noticed the thriple pin stripe. On the pn stripe there is a solid color in the middle and each of the two tones on the outside. For my current paint its gray in the middle. One side is yellow and the other side is cream. I'm going with a single color pin stripe to make it easy.
Can someone who has the Pearl Dark Red R223, Pearl Ivory Y137M tell me what is the main color is for the middle of there pin stripe? I'm assuming gray but not sure.

The pinstripes were decals that were clear coated.

We figured out the pinstripes were decals and clear coated. We are trying to figure out the color of the pinstripe for that two tone combination.

If yer going to paint the entire bike, why do it in a stock color scheme? Here's yer chance to be radically original. I love Smokin Joe's blue points, but I don't want them on my bike. How many bumble bees do you see in the Just Pics gallery? Tripple metalflake royal blue with matte red Mexican flames pinned with orange and teal! Just my thoughts, but make it yours, not Honda's... Fred.
