I joined fellow members of the MS Patriot Guard in honoring four unknown soldiers from the Mexican American War. Their bodies were discovered on Greenwood Island in Pascagoula, MS where U.S. Army Camp Jefferson Davis existed from June-December 1848. Camp Jefferson Davis was a transit point and hospital for soldiers returning from the war. Unfortunately 90 of them made it no farther.
We escorted their bodies from the G.I. Museum in Gautier, MS to Biloxi National Cemetery where the coffins were loaded on horse drawn caissons and they were given a funeral with full military honors as part of the Cemetery's Memorial Day Rememberance.
I've attached the link to the story and video from WLOX TV Channel 13 in Biloxi. For those of you who haven't met me, I 'm the guy wearing the POW/MIA do rag and red Joe Rocket mesh jacket. And yes, I rode Sandman during the escort. Now it is Patriotically Valkyrie related.
