I need some help Please Undecided  I lowered the handlebars back to stock mounts but now the throttle is hard to turn and WON"T return at all.  2003 Standard it had about 6 " risers and I took the thumb lock sitch off and it still won't return.

Anyone know what I need to look for?

Simple things first, loosen the cable at the hand control. Over tightened by even a little bit can lock the throttle up. Next check the cable for any pinching. Assuming you didn't mess with the tank, any pinching should be easy to find. Lastly if no luck so far, check the connection points at the carbs. I am betting on the cable getting over tightened when you moved the bars.  Cool

Scott is right. Ten dollars to a donut you just need to loosen & readjust the cable at the topside.
Same thing happened to me when I replaced the RH switch assembly on the project '99 Valk.

Been there, done that!  cooldude

Thanks guys I will check it out.  I work for Progress Energy and just recently had to attened  a meeting in Longwood alittle south east of Ocala,  I thought about taking the Valk and getting .50 a mile.  GLAD I DIDN"T have you ever driven on the Turnpike  oh not so bad untill you hit I-4 AT RUSHOUR the people around there ride bumper to bumper at 80+ mph  glad I took the work truck.  I live in the Florida panhandle on the coast between Apalachicola and Panama City.  The traffic is always nice round here.

Yikes! There are many nice ways to get to Longwood without hitting that God-awful Turnpike!
Give me a shout next time you come down this way, I'll make sure you can take the Valk on a much more scenic route.  cooldude

If the cables are routed behind the triple tree you may have to put them back in the orginal position in front of the triple tree. If those were six inches over stock risers the cables are probably way longer than stock.

triple tree ?  I think that I will put the other risers back  on because the stock mounts sit me to far forward.  I am leaning on my arms, I will say that I feel more in control leaning forward but it is not as comfortable of a ride.  I have tried moving the bars up and down but i just dont like leaning that far forward.  Thanks mr. bubbles if I find the right spot for the bars then I will see about the cables.
