Embarrassed  Greetings from the hills of Eastern Ky,
Bruenhilde is now ready to take to the roads and hills. I am hopeing to take her sometime this weekend or next. I got most of the wiring trouble replaced or repaired,   BUT  the stupid led light stays on with the radio removed and the ignition switch turned off. I looked at a schematic from rattlebars and even ordered a service  manual to give me some idea where to trace the display for the radio and it still does not work. I can unplug the audio relay and get the single light to go out when I pull the fuse out.
So, it seems to be in the relay, wiring, or I am just not looking in the right place. I tried to plug the radio unit back in but there is a plug in that I think goes to the front. It is like the one that plugs in to the rear headset and came out from under the tank area in front of the battery. I pulled all the wiring aside and can't find the recepticle for the front display.
Guess She does not want me to hear any radio-m3p-cb. Maybe she just wants me to hear her getting wind under her silver skirts and across her bare front headlights. I would appreciate anyone with an i/s to give me some idea what I am doing wrong or just not looking where I should. Any help will relieve my mind as I like to listen to Wagner's "Flight of the Valkyries" when I go barrelling by.

Thanks

I know this doesn't solve your lighting problem, but:

There are a couple of "spare" plugs on your radio.  They both look like the plugs that a helmet headset plugs into.  One is for the CB (if you have this, then it will be occupied, of course).  The other is for the nonexistent CD player.
So, don't worry about that spare plug.  It's normal, and shouldn't be plugged into anything.

Sorry I can't help with the lighting.  I would recommend pulling the fairing and tank and start tracing wires.

Thanks Mark,
That relieved my mind about the extra plug in. She does have the am-fm-cb-and plug for the mp3 player. I will try to take off the fairing today, if it stops raining, and see what values the plug-ins show in relation to the manual. The service manual helps a lot to make sure that the wiring is correct. I just wish the led light would cause the rest of the display to come on.
Thanks again,

Speaking of rain, that might cause your issue.  I have a vague recollection of fighting the same gremlin, and it being fixed by spraying electrical cleaner into the control pod (where the radio control buttons are, on the handlebars).  Especially if you ride in the rain, that pod can get gooped up a bit.
Of course, this could all just be my imagination.

Howdy ya'll,
I have been two years awaiting for today and BOY am I pleased.  Got to take a ride on Bruenhilde and She was a WHOLE lot more than what I had expected. She had waited patiently while I got stronger from having a heart attack, five bypasses, a defibulator implanted and many hours of physical therapy. She showed me what a truely beautiful lady she is by allowing me to feel the wind coming from under her silver skirt and running accross magnificent green blouse. I am now a VALKAHOLIC amd am so pleased with her 15 mile ride that I am so looking forward to another day of pure bliss.
I must admit that I was really perplexed as to how she would take to me sitting on her seat, but she wanted the wind so bad that she showed me what she was made of. I tried to give her all the freedom, and she surprised me with great smoothness, tons of power, sleekness never felt before, and most of all---Bruenhilde want to ride.

Thanks to all that gave me advice and encouragement when the carbs goofed up and the starter failed. I am thankful to have so many wonderful persons willing to help.     THANKS  SO  MUCH  !!!
