RE: 1999 Vakyrie Interstate, lower engine guard (w/air scoop)

As I have seen them so mounted, I plan to move my Kury highway pegs from the upper engine guards to the lower guards.  The lower guards are a different size than the upper guards.  What is the outside idameter of the lower engine guard that supports the lower air scoop and is attached to the bottom of the engine guards?

Additionally, what size Kuryakin Magnum Clamp should I buy to support my highway pegs on this lower engine guard in lieu of attaching them higher on the larger, upper engine guards?

Are there other issues to consider that may not have been apparent on such an installation.  The ones I saw were using the same Kury Magnum clamp that I have and there did not appear to have been any cutting or other mods on this install on the lower guards.

Thank you,
Al Wilson

Just did same change to my 99 I/S a couple days ago.  I used a pair of Kury 4" offset mounts to push the pegs a bit more forward.  1" clamp, no other mods.  Stan

Thanks.  I've ordered the clamps.  Looking forward to new position.
