For $159 I can buy 5 Vista Cruises with some money left over. This unit looks like it takes up too much of the grip which might make your hand uncomfortable.

No experience with it, but the brake lever disengagement is what makes it superior to the Vista Cruise in my eyes, never mind the chrome vs plastic.

For about the same cost I would get the BreakAway unit. I installed it on Joanne' VStar and it not only works extremely well, but it's no where near as obnoxious to look at. If I didn't have true cruise control [McCruise] I'd put a BreakAway on mine. http://www.brakeawayproducts.com/Google search can provide some good costing.

More than I paid for my Audiovox cruise control, check valves and the rest! I know the Audiovox CCS100 is difficult to find anymore, but I think there are other options still available. The throttle-lock I had on the bike almost killed me once, and I never gave it a second chance!!

The problem is, Walt, they show the inventory too. All four regional warehouses, each have 0 inventory. None available.

Yikes, didn't see that. But, doing a Google shopping search every few days, and E-bay, eventually turns up a good hit. I've got 4 kits in the attic now, one destined for the Rune this winter. See you in LaCrosse?

You bet! Several of us are pulling into LaCrosse Saturday evening, the 19th. I will be bringing all the Patchboy valve stems with me. Will be great to see you again. Will have the 01 IS with the Sidecar this year, instead of the 97 std. I had at PDC.
Am VERY anxious to get to riding there that week. With the slow, wet planting season, doing some serious riding is just what this guy needs!
Anyone else interested in some great riding that week, send me a PM.
And then, in July, on over to Inzane in Michigan! Between the two Valk clubs, will get in some great riding this summer!

I'm not sure my broken bones will allow me to make the VRCC ride-in. After about 6 hours, the pain is still pretty intense, but I'll figure Michigan out after La Crosse.

Do you want me to mail the valve stems to you, or bring them to Inzane then?

Looks like a nice system. I have the brakeaway and really like it. This one seems a bit easier to install, had to spend some time tweaking the tension and alignment on the brakeaway, but after I got it dialed in, it's a great product & looks sharp too.
Don't really care for the looks of this one, but looks like a good lock for the money.

Looks like the "rooster & Lock" throttle control is a no go for me .... doesn't work with Kuryakyn grips.

Hey .... I like that one That's exactly what I need .... it's plain and simple I take it you have one ?? Thanks man Yup.... works with Kury grips..... check your Hotmail, I sent some pictures.. I have those same grips But, here is from the website : Q. Will this throttle control work with custom/after-market grips? A. Probably not without modification. It will work just fine with leather, lace-on covers over stock grips. It will not work with the unmodified "Kuryakyn" grips. It will work with "Big Bike Parts" 6 Bar CNC grips #17-351 without modification. So .... what needs to be modified ??

Whatever had to be done was not much.
It basically is a cam ring that has a tab on the side that goes between your throttle cable bosses so that it will not turn and the cam ring fits around the sleeve for the throttle side grip.
The cam ring has adjustable tension so that you can set it so that when it is locked it will just maintain throttle position but will easily roll off if you turn it by hand without unlocking the cam ring so that if you need to slow in an emergency you don't have to flick the thumb lock to turn the throttle to idle - if you do flip the lock the throttle turns freely as usual.
It's been a while but I think the only mod was that when you reinstall the throttle side grip you need to position it about 1/2" further out on the sleeve to accommodate the width of the cam lock. Depending how the old grip comes off you may need to get a new sleeve for the Kury grip which means that you need to buy a set as I don't think you can get replacement liners for them.
If this is unclear send me a email with your number and I can give you a shout to discuss.
Rgds., Mike

I have the BrakeAway throttle lock. http://www.brakeawayproducts.com/Works really good and I think is nice looking. Easily fit over my Kury grip, but like I noted before, I had to tweak the tension and alignment to get it to work perfectly for my bike. Not a quick 10 min. install, more like 15 to install, and another 10 min of adjusting. Nice product and I do recommend it FlatSixLover

Look at the Cam-Lock from madcorider.com. That deffinately works with your grips.
Great people to do business with as well. I've had 3 of them on 3 different bikes.
Call Bill @ madcorider and talkl to him about what you need.

Sodbuster, If you liked Madco's rooster & Lock, you may want to check out the Cam-Lock by the same company. It will definitely work with Kury grips (I recommend the Kury grips as I broke the plastic throttle tube with the OEM grips). Unlike the rooster & Lock, the Cam-Lock requires that the grip be removed from the plastic throttle tube. I think this was actually what Madmike was describing. A little pricey at $130, but looks great. (I paid "only" $100 a few years ago.) Fits a Standard perfectly, but I believe it must be modified for an Interstate due to a different location for the throttle cables. Switch the direction of the piece that fits between the cables and mount the ring upside down.
